[history]
The check is in the mail for most people who claimed the child tax credit last year.
If it's not, it soon will be.
The federal government has begun mailing the first of more than 600,000 checks to Virginia residents. The checks are part of an accelerated new law that increased the child tax credit.

THE LOCAL LEFT WING PAPER (TIMES DISPATCH)Wants to know what you will do with your child credit.TOMORROW THEY WILL TELL THE SHEEPLE HOW BEST TO SPEND IT!!!!!Reminds me of the Bill Clinton quote "we could give everybody a tax break but you might not spend it the right way" Here is what I wrote to the editor: You leftists just dont get it ............ IT'S OUR MONEY ,we will spend it as we see fit....since we earned it!

Find out what the experts recommend in tomorrow's Times-Dispatch.According to Dims, the sheeple will simply hide it in their mattresses, preventing economic expansion & recovery.

I live in Virginia and haven't received one yet. Although, I thought it went according to Social Security numbers. Perhaps the last two digits. If that's the case, my family will be in the last group. Thank you to all the "rich" (Liberals are breathing heavy over this one) Taxpayers that get bitched and moaned on all the time. You are the ones giving the money for this. Not the federal government. Of course, when does the Federal Government ever give anything of it's "own" to people.

Got my $1200 today. I had hoped to put it into savings, but my wife had other ideas.
Oh, well. Economic stimulus, and all that.

"Economic Stimilus" is what my dad used to say to himself when he handed over money to my brothers and I. LOL! I'm glad your family is going to put it back into the economy.
Speaking of which, my hubby doesn't know it yet..but our den is going to get painted with some new furniture. Hehehe!

Well, kiss a Republican for giving you something that you do not deserve.

I plan to invest some of it....then give at least $100 to
RNC and $100 to
RPV for all the elections we have in VA this year.
Come on, Freepers.....this is a GREAT chance to THANK Republicans for this tax cut. If you don't like the party, send it to a candidate you support!!!

My duaghter turned 17 Friday so no check.
But what the hell 17 year olds are not any more expensive. Are they?
To: pdjplano
Well, ours came yesterday. The ironic thing is we are spending it on my books for college ($450) and an engineering calculator ($150). So once I get my degree, I will have to pay more taxes and probable have our child tax credit revoked.
To: sportscaster
Can someone please exlpain to me why people with children should get a tax "credit" in the first place?
Maybe because you're cranking out future taxpayers or something?
Its bad enough that people without children have to help fund the schools, now I find myself ineligible for this tax "credit" unless I choose to have children. I know the tax code is totally unfair to begin with, but why should people who choose to have children get a tax break?
The child tax credit thing peeves me simply because it is just one more example of the law treating people in a discriminatory fashion. Have kids? Here's a tax "credit". Don't have kids? Write us a check.
