The official Facebook page for the U.S. Navy SEALs and Naval Special Warfare Command was mocked this weekend for marking the start of "pride month."
Backlash to the post surged when it was highlighted on the popular "Libs of TikTok" page on X, formerly known as Twitter. The post had no caption and included a photo with rainbow designs that read, "NSW. Dignity. Service. Respect. Equality. Pride."
Libs of TikTok shared the post to X on Saturday, writing, "The Navy SEALs have gone woke. Our elite special forces. This is terrifying."
The special warfare account took steps to limit the accounts that can comment on their post, suggesting administrators knew it would be controversial.

My guess — and I would be eager to hear the comments of the many very wise people people on this board — is that some moron in the Pentagon who’s never got his, her, or their pants dirty, issued this, and all of the actual Navy Seals think it’s ridiculous or worse — hence the limitation on comments.
There is a reason that we call “Brass” Brass in the Navy, and it isn’t complimentary.
One of the likely enemies Seals will end up fighting are Muslims.
Let them know that a tactic will now be buggering them before killing them.

According to the article the Pentagon post was about PTSD month, but some clueless REMFer apparently slipped in the pride thing.
I don't believe that (gay) pride month should be a month, btw.

Some don’t realize that Special Operations forces can get the wrong people for the wrong reasons, the Green Berets complained about this when they were having movies made about them related to the Vietnam war and later which attracted some who were interested in getting in with the wrong personalities and for the wrong reasons.
I would be shocked if SEALs aren’t already suffering from all the media glorification they have been getting for years and that some of their own members are seeking with their glory books and celebrity seeking.
If the homosexuals get started on this they will be joining for the wrong reasons, not to serve quietly while conducting unpublicized duties by men totally focused on mission success year after year, but instead to get in, get their bragging rights and for self serving reasons.
Homosexuals are not known for wanting to be unnoticed and doing unrecognized humble service and self sacrifice.
Yes, however the acronym was language difficult to explain in some situations, while “Brass” was fully usable and understood anywhere, in front of anyone.
