They do have some excellent YouTube channels for Arkansas police chases. I’m watching one now; it’s a lot more fun that the Olympic ceremonies. Those Arkansas police Boyz will pit a car at 70 mph on a curved road with other cars around. LAPD could learn a few things.
Mr. RightField and I used to do almost exactly the same ... but we would also pull off the skin and bake them until crispy (no carb crunchy snacks) and then put the remains into a crockpot, cover with water and cook for 48 hours on low. Have you seen the prices of purchased bone broth lately? Full disclosure: we preferred the Sam’s Club chickens. Either way, you can’t get much more out of $5 than those rotisserie chickens.
My son is an operating room imaging tech at a big metropolitan hospital. He says two hand surgeons are always in the hospital on New Year’s Eve and the 4th of July. He often gets called in for emergency surgeries on those holidays. Pretty gruesome, he says ... right up there with motorcycle accidents.
Exactly right. For a dementia patient, today is the best it’s ever going to be. That is a tough reality for many to accept...they always have hope that the person will get better.
As one who has cared for three dementia elders (my mother and both in-laws) I can confirm that it is the caretakers who have to change their own behavior to make accommodations for the declining abilities of the person.
Mr. RightField and I had to come to terms with this fact. The demented person has no ability any longer for learning. IOW, they can't do anything to accommodate their own decline, even if sometimes they are aware of it. It us solely up to the caretakers and others around them to modify their own behavior for the benefit of the failing person. This in and of itself becomes a tiring and stressful way to live.
My daughter, who was born on June 19, is grateful that she can now party hearty on her day without having to take a personal day. She works remotely, so her first order of business is to sleep in.
