"" Democrats overwhelmingly believe that the tea party's influence will wane and that the electorate is going to swing back in their direction next year. "People don't like what they've seen in 200 days of Republicans in charge [of the House of Representatives]," said one Democratic Congressional Insider. "If the economy crashes due to a default, it will be a scarlet letter 'T' for any Member associated [with it]," predicted another. ""

FOX is getting testimony from officer that he heard the shooter make several anti-American, pro-Muslim/jihad-like statements about Muslims need to rise up against the Western agressors and engage in violent attacks against the military like the shooter in Little Rock, AR. This dude was reported concerning his threatening statements and was still walking around. Don't you just love our politically correct Army. I'm talking about some of those libs at the top, not the real soldiers who are fantastic.

Islamic schools lure African boys into begging By RUKMINI CALLIMACHI On the day he decided to run away, 9-year-old Coli awoke on a filthy mat. Like a pup, he lay curled against the cold, pressed between dozens of other children sleeping head-to-toe on the concrete floor. His T-shirt was damp with the dew that seeped through the thin walls. The older boys had yanked away the square of cloth he used to protect himself from the draft. He shivered. It was still dark as he set out for the mouth of a freeway with the other boys, a tribe of...

The Roman Catholic Church, dozens of grass-roots coalitions and Spanish-language radio disc jockeys have helped fuel protests nationwide against congressional efforts to tackle illegal immigration.... The Catholic Church has played a key role in opposing legislation to restrict immigration and rallying protesters.... "As we've been able to reach more and more people, they're waking up to the ills of the proposals made to date and seeing the need to be vocal about the kinds of reforms that would be more acceptable," said Mark D. Franken, executive director of migration and refugee services for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.... The...

Hi gang. I know we've seen this plenty of times, however, our troops always need our prayers. My son, Casey is still there, since last March. He's doing well, but has had some "near misses" a time or two. He was "knifed" in his shoulder, and has been in a couple of "kill or be killed" situations. Supposed to be home in March. Your prayers are coveted and very much appreciated.

Wounded U.S. Soldier -- Keeps Fighting -- Reassures Mom. From: Brenda Frahm [she goes to my church] Date: 11/17/04 14:22:51 Hi, I just got off the phone with my son Nathan in Iraq. The reason he called was to tell me he had been wounded today in a battle. He is okay, praise the Lord. He said they were in a horrible battle this morning and all of a sudden something hit him and knocked him to the ground. His buddy asked if he was okay, and Nathan, being Nathan said yes, he was ok. The bullet went in the...

The title says it all. Don't disappoint me, fellow Freepers. Let's have the pics and lots of 'em. And help me keep this thread bumped long enough to make it worthwhile.

Re-defining the desktop paradigm By Adamson Rust: Friday 18 July 2003, 08:02 THERE'S A FUN interview with the Apple hierarchy over at Digital Video Editing. After telling interviewee Charlie White all about Mac OSX and the G5, they're challenged about the statement that Apple has released the "first 64-bit desktop". Charlie makes the Apple marketeers splutter when he mentions that BOXX shipped a dual processor 64-bit desktop on June 4th. At first they try and tough it out, but then try and redefine the meaning of desktop. Nor do the Apple folk seem aware that the Opteron is a 64-bit...

I am actually a big fan of AMD. It is not only the best processor for the money, but the best period, IMHO. But one thing I'll have to hand to Intel. I'm upgrading an Intel system for a friend and I ordered a retail Celeron 1.7ghz. This is the first Pentium type processor I've looked at up close since the old Socket 7 days [I think that's the one that Intel and AMD both could use a few years ago.] Anyway, the heat sink and fan assembly on the Intel chip is massive compared to the dinky heat sink...

Friday, June 14, 2002 SPECIAL REPORT: Shark AttacksVolusia shark bites take chunks out of tourismBy IVONA LERMANENVIRONMENT WRITER TAMPA -- Record numbers of shark bites around Ponce de Leon Inlet may be hampering Florida tourism as well as efforts to conserve shark populations, scientists and diving industry representatives said Thursday.Last summer's media frenzy after a series of shark bites near the inlet contributed to rising fears of sharks among beachgoers and seriously hurt the image of shark species, said Robert Hueter, a director of shark research at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota. Local surfers, who continue to ride waves...

War support more likely in pews than from pulpits By Robert Stacy McCain THE WASHINGTON TIMESntiwar rhetoric rings from many U.S. pulpits, but the people in the pews support President Bush's policy in Iraq. U.S. Christians back war with Iraq by about a 2-to-1 margin, according to the latest survey, even as many clergy have emerged as leading voices opposing Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Pew Research Center found 61 percent of churchgoers support the war versus 28 percent who oppose it. That gap between clergy and laity is not surprising to Bishop C. Joseph Sprague of the Northern Illinois Conference...

Calling all Freepers, Freepers aren't just talkers, they are doers. I have supreme confidence that Freepers, if they want to, can easily pull of this stunt of hiring, or having someone volunteer, a rather large woman with a voice that will carry a country mile to show up at the Vice President's house, or the White House and sing, in operatic style, the Hallelujah chorus or any song associated with grand finales. And give the media advance notice, just in case they, uncharacteristically, decide to cover it. Is this a good idea? Your thoughts and bumps are appreciated. And flames ...

A friend just told me about this poll concerning whether or not to get rid of the electoral college. The poll is running exactly 50-50 right now. Let's make sure this poll turns out right, Freepers. I've never seen Freepers lose a poll yet when they mobilize. Thanks.

He told us he was putting one last poll out at midnight tonight. Will he finally place credibility above payoffs by the liberal media and political establishment?

Who does Fox's poll? It seems to be the worst of the lot. It still has the race a tie at 43% each. They just had a Democratic commentator on who said the polls are all trending toward Gore. In his dreams. The black female political commentator for fox, Angela McGlowen [I think I got that right -- what a beauty too by the way], ridiculed the Democrat and compared this DUI tempest in a teapot to Gore's fund raising scandals and his secret deal with Russia.
