They would be out in late May if they’re there. If he keeps the grass cut real short, they most likely won’t have lightning bugs in their yard. They need a little shelter during the day. Plenty of shelter here. LOL

I hope you enjoyed your show and are fast asleep now.
    Catch ya tomorrow.

He had a very happy face so he obviously enjoyed the trip yesterday. I noticed the water was up pretty high and after all the rain you had, it’s no surprise. I kinda expected it to be higher. It was crazy over there last week.

It’s been a wild day over here but I somehow lucked up and missed out on the yeeha. A couple of tornados passed a few miles north of me and one passed a few miles south. I sat on the front porch watching the “light show” from that one.
Lightning every direction I looked but somehow this little town was bypassed all night.

Now we all wait to see what Round Two will have in store.

Thanks. There was quite a bit of that going on a cross the southern sky tonight. ‘Bout time! LOL

Man, luck was on my side tonight. Storms were all around me but none came here. Just the side-swipe a little while ago.
    I’m very grateful.

You have to go outside to see lightning bugs. LOL I’m not sure if you’ve gone to Bryan at the right time. They’re only out for a couple of months and you might have gone down there too late, if they even have them there.

    Howdy, Allegra!

Thanks. My favorite kind of lightning. LOL We haven’t had any in a while now so I was glad to have some to admire tonight.
But the rest of the stuff that’s gone on, we all could have done without. Just like all the folks who were in the line of fire last week. It’s time for this wild weather to stop but darn if another tornado warning didn’t pop up SW of Nashville.

It’s going to be a long night, waiting for all this mess to pass through.

Yep. I'll be keeping an eye on things overnight, that's for sure. Round Two is starting to move in to west TN now and there are several severe storm warnings along the line.

I got a few decent shots but some really good streaks weren't in the camera frame very well. So much going on, I never knew where to aim the camera. LOL This one wasn't too bad.

There were a couple that went all the way across the sky the camera didn't cover that much sky. Drat.

It's too bad lightning bugs can't survive there. It's almost magical to sit outside when the sun sets and watch them come up from the grass by the hundreds. I'll start doing that now that I know they're out for the summer at last.

It happened several times throughout the day. There were so many storms and if two got close enough to each other, one drained the energy out of the other. I was watching those two, wondering if it would happen and which storm would hold on. Glad it was the southern one, for my sake, but I hope everyone’s ok who were in the path of the other.

I’m getting clipped by the southern edge of a storm going through now. Lots of lightning flashing but no streaks across the sky like the two that passed to the south earlier.

I just pulled up the Lake Hood cam and it’s SNOWING!!!!!

I’m glad it missed too! That was a slow-moving storm it was in and as intense as the lightning was, it must have been one nasty storm overall.
Another storm is moving across the same area now with a lot of lightning. Just got in from the porch, getting videos. Gotta play them back on the computer to see if I got any shots worth saving.

And the lightning bugs started waking up tonight!

There are still a few tornado warnings in AL but at the moment, none in TN. We’ll see what happens when the line in AR moves across TN later.

Dang that wind! Just ruins a good day. The birds don’t help things either. :-)

    Howdy, luvie.

So far, so good here at the farm. A tornado went through the south part of the county a short while ago and put on a nice light show, though there’s been intense lightning flashing in every direction all night.
More storms are firing up to the west but nothing severe with those ..... yet. And they aren’t even part of Round Two. Gonna be a long night.

I hope it was a comfy day down there today.

    Howdy, Kathy.

Got lucky this time. There were two storms headed for the county, both with tornado warnings. They got close enough together, it looks like the southern one sucked the energy out of the northern one. I’m in the clear but the southern part of the county is getting a hit now.
Just raining here but in every direction I look, the sky is flashing. Still several tornado and severe storm warnings all around.

Been a rough day across the state and we still have another round to deal with after midnight. No tornados with that line at the moment and I hope it stays that way. Still a few storms firing up west of here so this round isn’t quite finished.

Too bad you couldn’t get some rain with your clouds today. Y’all need some rain.

Enjoy the cool day and any others you might get in the near future. I don’t suppose there’ll be many more.

It’s warming up here all of a sudden and sunrise is still a ways off. Steamy warm. Not a good thing considering the forecast for the day.

Sleep well. I’m off to hopefully do the same. Catch ya tomorrow.

Last year’s the first year nothing big has come down in a long time. One small tree snapped off a few feet from the ground but it was easy for Charlie to haul off with the tractor.
The rest was just small tree trash that I piled up and burned.
I hope to be that lucky this year but only time will tell.

Cooler temps ahead for you? Yay for that!

I imagine it felt REAL good to have an uninterrupted night’s sleep for a change. Y’all have had a rough time of it over there for far too long.

Yes, they upped the ante on us over the past day or so and it looks like it could be a bumpy ride over the next 30 hours or so. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it.

They don’t have this county in the flood watch - yet - but that could change by the early morning newscasts. I don’t need to do any shopping so the rain won’t be a problem. I just don’t want any real strong winds since the ground’s so saturated right now. That could topple some trees by the roots. It’s happened here before and it took Hubby quite a while to clean that mess up.

I hope it misses us too. A couple of days ago, they had us in level 1 threat and now we’re in level 3. Just have to hope to get through it intact.

Sad that you’ve had so little rain. I’ve gotten almost that much in the past 5 days, and it’s not over yet. The round that’s due here in the morning is already starting to fire up in AR and MO. Then the biggie overnight tomorrow night. A lot of the state will be under a flood watch then.

It’s time for these fronts to back off for a while.

I don’t need to take it room to room with me. It’s good to walk away from it for a while. It’s here when I decide to come back.

I thought I was going to have a rain-free day today. There were a few little rain showers scattered around to the north and the west this afternoon but nothing close by. Then a cluster of storms blew up in north AL and came here. This was the only county in the state that had a severe storm warning all day, though it wasn’t all that severe at the farm. It rained real hard but there wasn’t much wind or lightning.

Might get a little something tomorrow and tomorrow night into Thursday morning is when it could get really dicey. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the radar all day and especially tomorrow night. Based on what they’ve said tonight, I’ll be under the gun this time tomorrow night and on into the wee hours.

A friend let me play around with her laptop several years ago to see how I’d like it, and I didn’t.
Like you said, different levels of comfort, and laptops are outside of mine. :-)
