Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday issued an executive order requiring hospitals report the annual costs of care for illegal migrants so the state can seek reimbursement from the federal government. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is directed to collect information on illegal migrants who use state hospitals for emergency and inpatient care, according to the executive order. These costs will be reported every year to Abbott’s office and the Texas Legislature in order for state officials to demand reimbursement from the Biden-Harris administration.

Former President Donald Trump’s appeal in the “Blue Wall” states might be too strong for Vice President Kamala Harris to overcome, Democrats indicated this week in fear of losing the presidential election. Seven states — Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina — will decide the president, political experts believe. If Trump wins one or more of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Harris’s chances of obtaining 270 electoral votes become narrower. She’s done an amazing job not only uniting the base but exciting the base,

Apparently, Vice President Kamala Harris is hard to work for… shocker. MSNBC host Symone Sanders-Townsend, ex-senior advisor and chief spokesperson for Harris, suggested she had a bad experience working for the VP amid mounting criticism. After President Joe Biden was forced out of the 2024 race, Harris, who has earned a reputation as an alleged “soul-destroying” workplace “bully,” greeted her new staff but was met with concerns.

Recent polling suggests that Kamala Harris will not beat Trump if she goes head to head with him in November. A nationwide poll taken the week before the assassination attempt against Trump, put Trump on 44% and Harris on 36%, with RFK Jr., Chase Oliver, Jill Stein and Cornel West trailing far behind on 6%, 1%, 1%, and 1% respectively. In a direct head to head, Trump would beat Harris by 2%, with 6% undecided. ….……………… A more recent poll, released on Sunday, showed that Trump beats Harris 51% to 46%, a margin of 5%, in Georgia. This poll was...

The socialist dictator of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro threatened a “bloodbath” and a “fratricidal civil war” on Wednesday if Venezuelans do not “elect” him in the upcoming July 28 sham presidential election. Maduro issued his warning during a campaign rally speech in the La Vega Parrish of Caracas, asserting that his victory is the only way to guarantee peace in Venezuela.

The French electoral system’s two-round structure, often criticized for favoring leftist coalitions over clear winners, contrasts with the simpler and more democratic single-round system of the UK, which would have given the National Rally approximately 295 deputies after the first round.

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday that the Greek-owned coal carrier MV Tutor, struck by Houthi missiles and an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) on July 12, has sunk in the Red Sea. The Tutor became the second ship sunk by the Iran-backed Yemeni terrorists since they began their campaign of wanton attacks on commercial shipping in November. It also appears to have been the first ship to be severely damaged by a Houthi USV attack. The weapon was evidently a remote-controlled small boat packed with explosives.

The Michigan community of Green Charter Township on Friday lost a court battle to block Chinese-linked electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer Gotion Inc. from building a factory near the town. Michigan is generally friendly to Chinese investments and the Gotion project in Green Charter Township was specifically endorsed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), who called it “the biggest ever economic development project in Northern Michigan.”

Taxpayers could be on the hook if electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Rivian fails to resume progress on its multi-billion dollar Georgia plant. Rivian announced on March 7 that it would be pausing construction on its $5 billion manufacturing plant that is supposed to be built just east of Atlanta, Georgia, worrying lawmakers and taxpayers in the state that the plant may never be built. However, local authorities had given the company up to $1.5 billion in subsidies and tax incentives with the expectation that Rivian would bring in jobs and tax revenue.

President Joe Biden is opening the nation’s airports to hundreds of thousands of white collar migrants who want the jobs and careers needed by hard pressed and indebted U.S. graduates. On April 30, for example, Biden’s pro-migration border chief announced the selection of 120,603 requests by companies, universities, and research centers to import roughly 110,000 white-collar H-1B workers for jobs that would otherwise go to American graduates.

A bill that proposed to let Georgians vote in November on a constitutional amendment banning noncitizens from casting ballots in local elections failed to advance in the state House by Thursday’s critical Crossover Day deadline. House Resolution 780 backed by Republicans, which clarified that only U.S. citizens can vote in Georgia elections, received 98 votes in favor to 61 opposed, which was several votes short of the two-thirds majority needed to place a constitutional amendment referendum on the ballot. Democratic lawmakers called the measure a political stunt since Georgia’s law currently requires voters to be U.S. citizens and state residents...

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA), best known for his animosity toward Donald Trump, came out in defense of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) as his speakership appears headed for the rocks. “Instead of bickering amongst themselves and handing Democrats control of the House, Republicans should do their damn job and vote on the important issues facing our nation,” Kemp posted on X.

Hollywood has reportedly received a whopping $25 billion in state tax incentives to date — a win for studios like Disney and Netflix but a big “L” for ordinary taxpayers, who are footing the bill for the giveaways. Frequently championed by Democrats, state tax credits for movie and TV productions are intended to juice local economies by creating jobs and boosting revenue for small businesses that provide services like catering and transportation. That, in turn, is supposed to generate more tax dollars.

Former President Donald Trump and eight codefendants can seek an appeal to the order that denied the disqualification of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in the Trump case, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ruled Wednesday. On Friday, Trump filed a motion to disqualify Willis from the Georgia election interference case. McAfee ruled that Willis could remain on the Trump case if Nathan Wade, fellow prosecutor and ex-lover, is removed by Willis or voluntarily resigns. Wade resigned hours later.
