I thought I would insert a little perspective into the argument concerning border enforcement this morning? I though yesterday's conversation went so well, ya know? This one will probably be moved to chat, but even so, maybe today we can discuss what REAL border enforcement would mean, and if that is something you REALLY want to see happen in America?

Just a little dose of reality for some of you going nuts over the Immigration issue, because there is NO chance that you will win on the border enforcement issue. No chance whatsoever. Only after a migrant worker program passes, making most of these illegal aliens legal, is there any chance at all to have meaningful border enforcement. Bush is not running for office anymore, but the Republican Congress is in need of a big victory in November. Under the radar screen, the Senate has marked up the 07 budget to include ANRW drilling. There is a vote tonight in the Senate starting around 5pm eastern time on a measure by Maria Cantwell to remove ANRW from the budget. Yesterday, I did one of the dumbest things I will ever do in my long (but still pretty) life. I volunteered to assist a friend of mine who owns a flower shop with his deliveries. NEVER DO THIS. Yesterday, I delivered flowers and other associated items to 55 separate addresses throughout San Diego County, mostly between La Jolla, Del Mar and Carlsbad. Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito picked up his second Democratic supporter on Thursday, with Tim Johnson of South Dakota announcing he will vote for the conservative judge to become the nation's 110th justice. Did anyone else hear the Democrat debating Ann Coulter on Dayside just now? She mentioned that "the President was trying to distract from the impeachments that happened last week." Coulter caught it, and reminded her that the last impeachment was that of Bill Clinton, but the point is that it seems clear that the Democrats have impeachment on the brain.
