Humor me a minute. I have a disturbing story about my web Site and Blog. I publish a web site with advice for buying a puppy. It contains information about dealing with breeders and avoiding pet stores and puppy mills. It also contains some dog news (remember this for later) and training tips. My Blog has similar articles and is heavily cross linked with my web site.I recently added Google AdSense to generate a few pennies of revenue here and there. The Blog and Main Site have very similar levels of traffic, but the Blog is the only place earning...

This part is frightening: Dog wardens from the state showed up at Brown's Wolf Den kennel, repeatedly, for inspections. "I was cited for a piece of kibble on the floor and five strands of dog hair. They took a picture of that, they walked around, snapped pictures and don't tell you why," Brown told the newspaper. Are we hobby breeders supposed to hide?...

SENECA, Mo. - When authorities raided J.B.'s Precious Puppies, they discovered more than 200 dogs standing in their own excrement, crammed three and four to a cage. Some were so sickly they were missing clumps of hair. The skeletal remains of puppies and adult dogs were found inside pet-food bags...

Never buy from a Pet Shop. If you buy a puppy from a Pet Store, you have missed the entire point of this site. You don't get to see the parents, you learn nothing about the conditions of the kennels, and you don't get to question the breeders. In short, you are supporting the Puppy Mill industry. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! See both parents of the puppy. If the breeders make any excuse for why you can't see both parents, walk away. One of the parents died, ran away, is sick, or is visiting his cousins in Albuquerque…..whatever excuse...

Forget the Easter bunny - the Obama girls are looking forward to a real, live dog. The First Family - and first-time dog owners - will reportedly welcome a black Portuguese Water Dog puppy to the White House on Tuesday, according to the Web site TMZ.

There is a great deal of debate about whether anyone should ever buy a dog or whether everyone should adopt one of the millions of dogs and puppies that are euthanized each year. It would be nice if people would be willing to adopt a pet from a pound, but most people are just not willing to do this.

From a description of coyotes surrounding our hero, Odd Thomas, and Annamaria in Dean Koontz' latest book, Odd Hours: ...Coyotes can sometime have a goofy charm. They are more closely related to wolves than dogs, lean and sinewy, efficient predators, but with feet too big for their bodies and ears too big for their heads, they can appear a little puppylike, at least as cute as Iran's homicidal dictator when he puts on a leisure suit and has his photo taken eating ice-cream cones with grade-school children whose parents have volunteered them to be suicide bombers. With narrow faces, bared fangs, and...

Nuclear power is particularly suitable for vessels which need to be at sea for long periods without refuelling, or for powerful submarine propulsion. Over 150 ships are powered by more than 220 small nuclear reactors and more than 12,000 reactor years of marine operation has been accumulated. Most are submarines, but they range from icebreakers to aircraft carriers. In future, constraints on fossil fuel use in transport may bring marine nuclear propulsion into more widespread use. So far, exaggerated fears about safety have caused political restriction on port access. Work on nuclear marine propulsion started in the 1940s, and the...

The minister pointed out that the current wage system sapped employees' incentives to excel since everyone earned the same regardless of performance.

Amnesty…a defining issue for Conservatism. You cannot be on the wrong side of this issue and escape the wrath of the Right-Media. (Unless you are a nobody, like me. Then, it is very easy to fly under their collective radar.) Support for any form of Amnesty makes one a RINO, turncoat, panderer, and/or traitor. I am as Conservative as you can get. Way to the right of Genghis Khan. Approaching the territory of Jeff Flake or Tom Coburn. Seriously. I’m there! Lower taxes – check. Department of Education – gone! Department of almost everything else – gone! Department of Defense...

Everyone here seems to be full of piss and vinegar about ONE candidate (different candidates for each Freeper.) That will never win the general election. What if we put each of the major candidates into one of four categories: 1) Favorite - This is my guy!2)Tolerable - Not my first choice, but I'll work to get out the vote for him against the Dim nominee.3) Whatever - I'll vote GOP, but don't ask me for any help.4) Hell no! - I'll sit out or hold my nose and vote for Hillary!!! I suspect this will tell us more about each...

I find myself posting a great Conservative line from the latest book by Dean Koontz every year. This year's book, "The Darkest evening of the Year", does not disappoint. From Chapter 47, about a terrorist smuggling operation:Many murderous thugs just hiked across the unprotected border or used international airlines and - wearing T-shirts that proclaimed DEATH TO ALL JEWS in Arabic - breezed through U.S. Checkpoints where highly suspicious federal security personnel strip-searched Irish grandmothers and Boy Scouts on field trips.

I was just watching a Discovery Channel program on the Three Gorges Dam Project in China. Predictable, the show lamented the loss of traditional culture among the 1,000,000 or so people in the future reservoir above the dam. In one segment, they discussed one village that would have to be moved 500 yards up-hill (to end up EXACTLY at the water's edge , as they currently are) and how they would lose their "village tree"...The loss of the slightest amount of "traditional culture" is abhorrent to all leftists, unless we are talking about "traditional American culture"; which they can't destroy...

Did anyone hear Glenn Beck get slandered on Boston Legal? The case concerned a shock-jock being fired (a la Don Imus). In her defense, Candice Bergen accused Glenn Beck of something close to saying the 911 Victims were "quickly hated". I can't possibly imagine him saying anything like that. Probably his comment related to the "911 Widows" (if he even said it about them).

I have a somewhat off-the wall suggestion for the third-tier GOP Presidential candidates. They should agree among themselves to hold a series of debates each week for several months and allow the nationwide audience to call in and vote one off. Each candidate could agree to abide be the audience's votes (most will be dropping out over the next six-months or so anyway.) No big loss, but a huge potential. What are the benefits?1) Greatly increased chance for the winner to join the first-tier.2) Incredible audience interest in the debates. (Heck yeah, I'd watch.)3) Would remove the spotlight from Rudy...

Washington – Feeling the heat from the Club for Growth’s presidential white paper on his tax-and-spend record, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee pledged today at the CPAC Conference to rule out raising taxes if elected president. Club for Growth President Pat Toomey commended Governor Huckabee’s pledge as an important step in the right direction. “We hope this is evidence that Governor Huckabee appreciates that Americans are overtaxed and neither want nor need higher taxes,” Mr. Toomey said. In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press on January 28, 2007, Tim Russert challenged Governor Huckabee’s fiscal conservative credentials, citing the Club...

Beginning this year, a new series of $1 coins will honor the presidents of the United States in the order that they served. We will continue honoring four presidents each year until at least 2016. Collectible versions of these coins will be sold in both proof and uncirculated conditions and in a variety of special collection sets. Additionally, each presidential spouse will be honored with a 24-karat gold coin.

Helping Your Child Prepare 1. Be sure your child/children get plenty of rest the night before the test and eat a good breakfast on testing days(sic) 2. The morning of the test-taking day should be calm for your child. Make sure that you and your child are not rushed and that your child has time to prepare for the day. 3. Take time to talk with your child about your confidence in him or her. Encourage your child to take the test serious, but don't cause your child to be anxious about the test. Let your child know that you...

Koontz is my favorite writer. His latest is Brother Odd (third book in the Odd Thomas series.) Two passages I thought were great. "Civilization - says my friend Ozzie Boone - exists only because the world has barely enough of two kinds of people: those who are able to build with a trowel in one hand, a sword in the other; and those who believe that in the beginning was the Word, and will risk death to preserve all books for the truths they might contain."And a passage about the handicapped kids in the monestary he is staying at:"As medical...
