Arguing about how many people are citizens of Iran and their ethnic composition.

None of that matters one way or another.

The only thing that matters is that the country is run by maniacs and they have almost got the bomb....and they have made many many public statements that they will use it to destroy the United States of America.

This is what makes Trump so unique. He sees the root of the problem and he goes after it with every means available to him.

I never thought Cruz was presidential material. No better than Trey Gowdy or Lacey Graham.

As I retired long ago, I have no up to date approach plates for this airport.

Bur first....there is no requirement that the glide slope must be working. You can legally shoot an approach using the localizer only....but the minimums will be much higher. How much higher depends on terrain and other obstacles.

But regardless of all of that, there is no excuse for being at tree top level two miles from touchdown.

Usually that happens because at some point well out from the runway, the pilot sees the ground and thinks he can “duck under” and make a contact approach.

With or without A GLIDESLOPE THERE IS NO AIRPORT i AM AWARE OF THAT PUTS YOU THAT LOW TWO MILES OUT. AT THE SMALLER AIRPORTS, 200 FT. IS THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM AT THE APPROACH LIGHTS. If at that point you have the lights in sight or the runway you can legally land.

A clear case of pilot error.

Investigators should pull every message and every contact he has had over the past 5 years. I suspect the names would be socking.

AA landing is almost always a grease job or a botched embarrassment beginning 3 miles outside the marker.

At three miles outside the marker the air speed, altitude and power settings should be at the exact appropriate settings. All check lists should be complete and set as required.

At the marker the crew needs only to drop the gear and make minor adjustments to the power setting to compensate for changes in the wind at the lower altitudes.

Constant practice at this, even in the very best VFR conditions, will make approaches to minimums a piece of cake.

The alternative is pieces of aluminum and they do not digest well.

Consider the possibility that the real purpose was to destroy signal and remove i from use by those concerned with privacy.

She set foot in one of the most corrupt agencies in the US. The brilliant minds here and elsewhere think she should instantly know the ropes. Who she can trust, etc. Have all the evidence she needs for immediate arrests.

That really gets to the heart of the matter.

Just follow the daily hews....120 plus lawsuits, bureaucrats openly defying court decisions, the president’s executive orders, the message of the election, etc.

So what does all of that show to anyone but the blind?

The first thing that must be done in order for anything else to be accomplished is to get the back stabbers, incompetents and corrupt out of office.

Bringing charges against very powerful people will accomplish nothing so long as crooked cops, corrupt judges and prosecutors who hide evidence or create false evidence as needed exist in government.

Which brings us back to my earlier post. In that chain of persons who are required to carry out any of Bond’s orders are people who are untrustworthy, in short snakes who must be removed.

Not a job that can be done over one or two weekends.

Maybe it is time for an attorney who is familiar with how things work at the national level to explain how the AG and the DOJ build a case, present it to whomever and how it proceeds from there to n actual arrest.

What many people do not understand is that money has zero value except that it replaces barter.

barter represents goods of supposedly equal value or desirable for some personal need therefore it creates wealth in that one must first produce something of value in order to barter it for a need.

Money created by government “magic” does not represent the creation of goods, therefore it is inflationary.

Government jobs should for that reason exist only for the purpose of security requirements: Fire, law enforcement, court system and roads.

As I read these comments, I am reminded of a trip to Atlanta’s Hartsfield many years ago.

A controller at our base airport had an opportunity to apply for a job at Hartsfield and he asked if he could ride with me on my next trip.

So he made the trip with me.

To me it was just another trip and another landing as I had been there many times.

As we disembarked from the plane his comment: “You sure were busy...I had no idea.”

That from a guy who had many yuears in ATC and was good enough he got the job in ATL.

So unless you have flown as pilot in command in and out of Washington National, you have no idea either.

One of the two pilots should have been looking outside the cockpit at a busy airport.

Of course that comment makes sense.

However you would need to fly out of that airport as pilot in command to see the difference between “should be” and reality.

For 40 years I flew about every where east of the Rockies and occasionally west.

Atlanta, Miami, OHare, LaGuardia and yes, Washington DC. Only once.

That may have been 40 years ago...too late to spend time looking through my log....but I swore never ever again and all of my later trips were to Dulles Dulles was well run, simple departures great line service.

Washington National was a mad house. A crazy house. controllers stalking to multiple aircraft non stop with no time or attempt to confirm that the crew understood. If you flew in there, you were expected to know what you were doing and were capable.

This was bound to happen. Like Russian Roulette eventually you draw the short straw.

The two things that surprise me about this accident are...First, it surprises me that it has not happened several times over the years. Second, that the crew did not pick an area with less traffic.

It was a madhouse all those years ago. I can not imagine what it is like today.

It will happen again unless the number of movements are reduced.

And by the eway, departure routes and approach routes are expected to be followed exact ly and many of them are complex....multiple headings, strict altitude instructions, noise abatement power reductions, etc. You will be looking at the instruments and the charts more than non-pilots can imagine.

Take Fauci for instance. One big trial in federal court and acquitted and he would be home free. Hard to believe, but entirely possible.

Could not be prosecuted again for the same crime.

Now he will undoubtedly be sued in civil court by thousands for damages caused, and will certainly ;lose most cases.

Because in the law that created executive orders, civil cases and state law violations are specifically exempted.

I suspect that there arew thousands of lawyers in the US that are already planning their case.

That still leaves the shooter in a bad place legally.

Time after time the courts have ruled that leaving a fight for any reason whatsoever and returning to the fight makes him the instigator of the act that resulted in a death.

I am not saying that I agree, only that it is the law.

The view of the prosecutors and judges is that once you have left, you are free of any danger to your life or the lives of those with you. Their view of the law is that you are safe enough to wait for the cops.

“The soldier retrieved a handgun from his home and returned to ensure his family’s safety.”

And the prosecutor would say “You left your family alone while you went into the house? To insure their safety?”

The way these things usually work is that the man of the house comes on the scene and tells the wife to get the kids and herself in the house immediately...and from that point on, it is only the shooter and the bad guy, face to face.

I will admit to knowing that there are quite a few women who would not go to the house. If there is going to be a fight, they will be right in the middle of it, and willingly.

But that is another topic.

The lesson to be learned is that this shooter put himself in a very precarious position by going into the house without taking his family with him and by returning to the scene.

To complicate this even more, the sheriff in this country probably would have done the same and refused to press charges. In the county next door, the shooter would be in jail waiting for trial on a murder charge.

It pays to know the laws but pays even more to know how it is interpreted in those jurisdictions you spend a great deal of your time.

There is an important point that is not discussed here.

North Carolina law specifically refuses to allow a self defense plea in the event you leave the person attacking.or if he leaves you, and you leave for the purpose of obtaining a weapon.

I am not a lawyer, but I have read of several cases in this state where leaving and returning with a weapon resulted in a murder conviction.

Maybe the wife and children were not easily removed from the danger zone....that is not discussed and would make a big difference, but based on the facts given in the story, the shooter is very lucky that he did not have to face a hanging judge and jury.NC law is very clear that once you leave the scene, you must not return as you are considered to be out of danger long enough to wait for the cops.

The lack of a weapon on the body would have been a clincher in court.

I am not attacking, criticizing or in any way blaming the shooter. I am only pointing out that quoting the castle law is a serious error because the castle law does not allow you to break any other NC law and I wish to remind everyone who goes armed in NC to be aware of the legal traps and this particular trap has put quite a few otherwise justified shooiters in prison.

I flew for 40 years...multi engine...instruments...single pilot.

During those years, I carefully studied all accidents where the info was available in an effort to avoid the same mistakes.

I can not think of one single accident in which the press had any idea what they were talking about. On the third or fourth day as air crew members began talking, we began to and will again begin to slowly learn the facts.
