Hey to all the New Zealanders out there. I was just wondering if you'd mind giving me an idea on what political party you guys support. ACT, NZ First, National or something else??? I voted for Winston last time but I'm thinking of giving mine to Prebble. Cheerz.

Thank You I don't know what the deal is with all this Kiwi hating about. You Americans are just bad as the Aussies. Why the hell are you knocking us for? it's not like anyone voted for helen clark on the pretext that she would disband the strike force of our Air Force. And where's the great Icelandic special forces or even Mexicos. If it does fully go ahead some sensible person will come along and reinstate them no matter what the cost. I just hope they buy top of the line technology to complement the excellent men and women who serve our country for a pittance every damn day. And as for lying down while the PLA storm pur ports and take over our cities; a determined and spirited resistance force would be far more effective than any regular forces our small nation could muster. New Zealand has a high gun ownership record (i'll get the exact figures from Phillip Alpers and report back later)and therefore a few rifles in the hands of pissed off guerillas would make the effort of taking and holding this country a stupid expedition indeed!

OK now that it seems everyone is convinced our lefty PM was misquoted let's get on with the task of finding and punishing the people responsible instead of bickering over minor details of newspaper reporting. Our SAS are on standby, but most of our regular army is stationed in East Timor (including my cousin God bless him) so if you need more ground troops ours are a bit of a ways from arriving! New Zealand has what you call a "character army", small budget, decripit equipment and just relying on the character of its fighting men. Hell, if it gets out of hand I'll sign up myself for a stint. Anyways we got your back and...oh yeah if y'all make a film about this later on make sure you give us a mention! I don't agree with many things America has done but if our govt has pledged its support then it's my country right or wrong!

c'mon guys did you really think New Zealand would drop the ball in this hour of darkness. our PM was misrepresented by the Christchurch Press and subsequently on this website. her actions and words are testament to the NZ people's commitment to this cause. she just purchased 100 odd LAVIII APCs ideal for desert warfare. yeah she scrapped our strike capabilities but we'll have to wait to get those back (legislation for minimum defence requirements?)anyways that's a big contribution for a country our size I don't see Iceland or Chile pledging their Special Forces. when it comes down to it NZ is one of America's most steadfast allies so don't believe everything you read!!!
