Not really a protest or a movement. Just an idea for us to combat SJW's who threaten to boycott everything that offends them. Pull out your phone and/or tablet and start deleting any apps that are even remotely linked to the woke movement. Many companies track and place a high marketing value on the number of devices out there that have their app installed. For me, the biggest purge was sports apps...just ditched all 7 of them. If you want to take it a step further, go to your social networking accounts (FB, Twitter) and unlike/unfollow any and all woke...

Scott Yamanashi could have died on his 38th birthday. But he survived being shot during his party at a Plaza Midwood bar. Now he's starting an armed patrol and stirring conflict in the community he aims to protect. The patrol, called Neighborhood Watch Alliance, is comprised of some of Yamanashi's friends from businesses off Central Avenue. The group is still organizing, he said. But the plan is to patrol the area with handguns, flashlights and notepads. “We can lurk in the shadows, watch people and report what we see,” he said. “That's not against the law.” But the idea has...

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- If there is a theme to the issue of ethics this year, it's active ignorance; people ignoring common sense in the most blatant of ways eliciting outrage and guffaws. So much so, you blurt, "What could they be thinking!" Well, it looks like they weren't thinking about the future, or ramifications or much of anything else besides the selfish acts in which they partook, from backdating stock options to head-butting opponents to racist and anti-Semitic outbursts. It's a curious culture of extremes we live in. Here's who sank to the bottom and rose to the...

I’m sure I’m not the first one to consider this, but I have yet to read it anywhere else. The recent revelations that CNN worked directly with terrorists to obtain video of a terrorist sniper killing an American soldier and that Ted Kennedy tried to undermine our foreign policy by colluding with the Soviets during the cold war makes me curious. Is it possible that the media and the Democrats objections to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act is rooted in the possibility that they would be the ones caught by it?

CHARLOTTE -- A University-area restaurant employee was treated for minor injuries following an explosion Wednesday night. An employee of the Thai House, in the Grand Promenade shopping center, stayed after hours to do some cleaning and the explosion was triggered when the employee set off 20 aerosol pesticide defoggers too close to the pilot light of a gas stove. “When it was contacted by the pilot lights on the gas equipment, it caused sort of a spontaneous explosion,” said property manager Mark Hanna. Firefighters at Station 27, which is within walking distance of the restaurant, say they felt the explosion....

Today's Poll Is it wrong of ABC to present a fictionalized version of events in The Path to 9/11? Yes. They should have stuck to the facts, rather than show political bias or mislead the public. No. They have a right to shape the story to make it compelling. I'm reserving judgment until I see it.

Sam Hornish Jr. may have forgotten what he wanted to say because he was awestruck, but he gets a pass. It was, after all, the president of the United States. Hornish and key members of Marlboro Team Penske and the IRL IndyCar Series met briefly Tuesday morning with President George W. Bush in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next to the White House to celebrate Hornish's victory in the 90th Indianapolis 500 in May. Bush entered the room and greeted the group by asking, "How's everybody doing?" He then shook hands with Hornish, who struggled to say what he'd rehearsed....

Detroit. It has come to our attention that serious discussions are taking place for the first time in the conference rooms of one domestic manufacturer in particular on a subject heretofore unthinkable in Detroit. The subject? Pulling out of NASCAR. Yes, it has been mentioned before, and I have predicted it for months now - ever since the announcement was made that Toyota would be buying its way into the France family circus - but we have confirmation that not only are the discussions taking place, they're so far down the road that a timetable for a pullout has been...

In the wake of publicity generated by the sexual assault scandal surrounding the Duke men's lacrosse team, sales of merchandise bearing the "Duke lacrosse" name and logo have skyrocketed. "Historically, lacrosse has been one of our three or four best-selling sports," said Tom Craig, general manager of retail stores at the Durham, N.C., school. "But over the last month, sales have increased to three or four times our normal rate." Despite the cancellation of the team's season April 5 -- or perhaps because of it -- the campus stores have experienced a run on merchandise related to Duke lacrosse, and...

PHILADELPHIA -- Sen. Arlen Specter is accusing the National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles of treating Terrell Owens unfairly. The Pennsylvania Republican says he might refer the matter to the antitrust subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which he is the chairman. Specter said at a news conference Monday in Harrisburg it was "vindictive and inappropriate" for the league and the Eagles to forbid the all-pro wide receiver from playing and to prevent other teams from talking to him. He said, "It's a restraint of trade for them to do that" and "it might be a violation of...

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. – For the past 10 months, Kings Mountain City Council member Jerry Mullinax has spent his evenings on the air waves hosting a gospel music show on WKMT, a local AM radio station. Now that Mullinax is running for re-election against Tommy Hawkins, the station decided to pull his show off the air. “Tommy was thinking that I was getting too much support through the station,” he said. “Never did I mention my candidacy, never.” Even if there is no campaigning going on, the Federal Communications Commission requires that candidates get equal air time. “Of course (Hawkins)...

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers guard Stephen Jackson, contending that a league ban on chains worn over clothing is "a racist statement" from the league, wore every long, diamond-studded chain in his collection Tuesday night as a protest. Jackson voiced no opposition to the bulk of the "business casual" demands in the NBA's new dress code, but he described the jewelry ban as "attacking young black males." "I think it's a racist statement because a lot of the guys who are wearing chains are my age and are black," said Jackson, 27. "I wore all my jewelry today to let it...

Why not require 60 votes? It should take 60 votes to put someone on the Supreme Court for life. We should be aggressive and affirmative in making that demand and not shrink from it. Most Americans agree. In a recent poll we conducted, 69 percent said, “A nominee should have to get the support of at least 60 of the 100 senators.” Just 29 percent believe, “When the president nominates a justice to the Supreme Court it should take the votes of only 51 of the 100 senators to confirm the nominee and make them a Supreme Court justice.” In...
