Pardon my ignorance, but if neither Bush nor Kerry received 270 electoral votes the House of Reps votes for president. But each state's delegation has only one vote. Does anyone know the breakdown for how many state delegations have a Republican majority and how many have a Dem majority?

There used to be a web security system called SafeWeb. It was free and allowed you to browse the internet invisibly, without allowing your computer and URL to be traced. It was free. Now it is no longer available, except it seems, to large customers and/or companies. Does anyone know of a similar service is available and how one would go about using it?

Idealistic Protesters Are Patriots Searching To Improve The Nation February 4, 2001 By CARAH HELWIG I was one of the more than 20,000 protesters who took to Pennsylvania Avenue on January 20. That may not sound like an earth-shattering revelation, but here's the kicker: I went to D.C. with a very close friend who also happens to be a GOP die-hard. Mary Pat Donahue and I (along with another Democrat and a Green) shared a fairly smooth weekend in our capital city. My excursion also served as a reminder that many in the United States remain opposed to the free ...

Another anti-conservative web site has reared it's ugly head. Complete with all of the usual themes; the Florida vote, abortion, the evil electoral college. Now that we "rule the roost" let's have fun with these Sore Losermans. The site is called Helraiser. Check it out and then feel free to bombard the webmaster/ownerwith the Right perspective. The e-mail address is hel_raiser@yahoo.com. I am familiar with the person who oversees this site. Apparently, they frown on contact from conservatives, even though the site clearly invites readers to "Contact The Watchdog". Have fun kids.
  • Clinton's Ambition; Seat On Supreme Court

Bill and Hillary Clinton always have a plan. They are driven by their collective ambition. As the lyrics to their campaign theme song read, they "don't stop thinking about tomorrow". And so, with the news of Bill Clinton's deal Friday with federal prosecutor Robert Ray, it became apparent what the Clinton's hope tomorrow will bring. With long time friend Terry McAuliffe running the DNC, it will be his task in 2002 to achieve a democratic majority in the senate. In 2004, McAuliffe, with Bill Clinton as fundraiser in chief, will attempt to secure the democratic presidential nomination for Hillary Clinton ...

My fellow citizens, tonight is my last opportunity to speak to you from the Oval Office as your president. I couldn't get the constitution amended to make myself king. I am profoundly grateful to you for twice giving me the honor to serve, to work for you and with you to prepare our nation for the 21st century. And I'm grateful to Vice President Gore, to my Cabinet secretaries, and to all those who have served with me for the last eight years. Including the many people who are now deceased or in jail. This has been a time of ...

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced the altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The woman replied, "You are in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude." "You must be a republican," said the balloonist. "I am," said the woman. "How did you ...
  • Tribune's "Inc. Column" Says White House Staff Happy Bush Won

From page 2 of today's Chicago Tribune... We understand the delay in officially naming George W. Bush our next president left the White House staff of ushers and maids frantically scrambling to get Bush's new digs ready for his regime. Normally, the staff has plenty of time to conduct meetings to determine every need and desire of the big guy in charge (for instance, Dubya's dad complained about the heat on his first night in the big house). We hear the staff is glad Bush won because they think he's friendlier than Al Gore.
  • Time To Balance Rush To Judgement (Or Conservative Talk-radio Just Isn't Fair-My Title)

Peoria Times Observer | 12/27/00 | Bill Knight
As Republican President-elect George W. Bush and Democratic leaders of Congress call for bipartisan cooperation, concensus and civility, it's time for Peoria's two news/talk radio stations to offer some balance to Rush Limbaugh (WMBD-AM 1470) and G. Gordon Liddy (WTAZ-AM 1350). They should not be silenced, nor censored. They should be balanced with more information, not less. As it is now, Limbaugh and Liddy can say whatever they want, attack whomever they please further whichever agenda that appeals to them-with impunity, every weekday afternoon. Their two shows are little more than hour after hour of partisan adverstising, and-with few other ...
