Where does she get her moral authority? She's a childless woman who, according to gossip columns, is dating a married man, and she plays the wife of a murdering mobster. And she's a "mother" against Bush? Please.....
I teach in a government school (Los Angeles Unified School District), and we just covered the Caroline affair. Not all public school teachers are brain dead---but many of them are, I admit.
Actually, I believe I heard a teacher from this school on a radio program, and he said they caught a lot of grief in times past for having their students sing Christmas carols with references to Jesus and God in them.

I teach history in a public school in Los Angeles, and the anti-war rhetoric of some of the teachers is nauseating. However, there is a group of us who support our president and the war, if it comes. I'm very upset about the brainwashing of our students that goes on in the name of education. Students come into my room spouting the old "No war for oil" mantra, and I ask them to explain what they mean. They haven't a clue. I told my class that anyone who walked out during last Wednesday's protest would get an "F" unless they could explain what exactly they were protesting. Most of the class agreed with me when I said the kids who walked out were kids who just wanted to leave school --- that they would have walked out to protest ANYTHING--- bad cafeteria food, poorly dressed teachers, having to do homework.
I teach in LA. I think this list overlooked the use of car names in the African American community. I've had several Porshe's over the years. And now Camry is a popular name. What's next --- RAV4?
I teach at an inner city high school in Los Angeles, and we offered the Kaplan test prep course for free to any students who wanted it. No arcane reimbursement procedure. No co-pay. FREE!! And even at that price, we couldn't find kids who would take it, and those who took it, didn't attend regularly. If you come from a culture that doesn't value education, all the test prep in the world --- free or otherwise --- is useless.
I'm thinking we need Hans Blix on the case. He's doing such a bangup job in Iraq, he could probably straighten out the Swedish child custody problem in a heartbeat.
I didn't realize it until I read your message, but I think you're right. At any rate, he didn't seem too happy, and his defense of CAIR's leader was weak.
