  • Ron Paul: Israel can take care of itself

When I was young (back in 1983) the “Party of God” (puppets of the Irianian regime) got away with murdering hundreds of Americans in Lebanon.

They have the same leader today - still committed to spreading fire-and-blood. Not just to Israel - but to the whole world.

Yet no one seems to prepared to kill their leadership - to really take this MASSIVE terrorist group (which does indeed control Lebanon) seriously.

Not the United States, not Israel, not anyone.

It is very depressing. Because I believe that the worst deeds of this terrorist group (and their Iranian regime masters) are yet to happen. I repeat - they are committed to spreading fire and blood all over the world.

Only in this way, they believe, can the return of the “Hidden Iman” be “hastened”.

    It is indeed astonishing.

The United States (once the land of freedom) now has almost certainly the most socialist housing market in the Western world (thanks to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac - and so on, because they are not the only interventions).

What to do? A saying from the Irish side of my family springs to mind - “I would not start from here”, that is not just a useless response to the question “how do I get to.....” it really means “the ground is too difficult for you to walk to.... from here, if you try you are going to die in a bog”. The situation is bad (really bad) conventional tactics (like trying to walk to ....) will not work.

In the end people (a lot of people) are going to have to get in the habit of quietly, politely, but firmly saying to visiting government inspectors, the following......

“This is private property and you are not welcome here, no one is here who does not want to be - and no one is being forced to eat anything they do not want to eat.”

Unless people say that - and lots of other people back them up. Then everyone ends up as slaves of the government.

  • Did a Harvard economics class cause the financial crisis? Students walk out of lecture...

This Harvard lecturer is a Keynesian. He supports the sort of high government spending (and Federal Reserve monetary expansion) that were a feature of the Bush years - and are even more a feature of the Obama years.

Let everyone be clear about this - the far left student activists are trying to destroy the right to freedom of speech of a man of the moderate LEFT.

How would the far leftists react to a teacher who really did support the free market - who taught Ludwig Von Mises and so on?

Of course we know how they would react - how the far left has always reacted in every country the far left has taken control of.

The leftists would respond to free market arguments with terror and murder.

  • TIME MAGAZINE CAUGHT AT IT AGAIN!

In a sane world Time magazine would be produced in someone’s basement - and sell about two copies (one to the publisher’s mother, the other to his best friend - both of whom would then throw it away).

However, in this world, Time is one of the biggest selling political magazines - the biggest political magazine seller in the United States, and sold all over Britain also.

Why is this? The ideological position of Time magazine is vile, and its articles are utterly dishonest. For example, this week’s edition has the editor go on about how the “religious right” “lost the argument” on abortion and school prayer - when he knows perfectly well that this was not a matter of free poltical debate, it was an exercise of arbitrary power by the Supreme Court with utter contept for both the opinion of the people and for the Constitution of the United States.

However, the “mainstream” media does not exist as some free floating bubble - actually it is a reflection of the education system (both schools and universities).

A lot of people are not really interested in what the teachers and academics say, some people are interested and reject at the time (arguing in class - or making a mental note that it is all propaganda, whilst saying and writing what the teacher wants them to), and a lot more people reject the collectivist ideology of the education system when they get out into the real world.

But some people (a lot of people) never do. They accept what the teachers and academics tell them (about history, politics, economics......) and carry on believeing it.

And often these people are NOT stupid - they may have very high IQs, they just accept an ideology when young and never fundementally question it (a failure of wisdom - not intelligence).

These are the people who buy Time magazine.
