The entire Arab world tried to overrun a little nation and got smacked around.

Setting aside the issue of whether or no Isreal came to be a nation on it's own merits or forced on the region by the world powers, this statement succinctly demonstrates that overrunning a little nation is just fine as long as you succeed...like the US of A has been wont to do for several decades. Would Vietnam now be lauded as a great victory had America simply overrun it?

Yup, we must remember that these are the people who came to the shores of this nation, hewed wood and hauled water, cleared the fields and forests, built the mills and the railroads and are generally responsible for building a nation out of the wilderness...and all that thanks to a steady stream of welfare dollars pouring out of DC...

Police found documents in various names, including credit cards, cheques, and school transcripts. Two of the men were sharing as many as 16 aliases, federal lawyer Silvia Rapaj told a detention review hearing last week.

Hardly unusual in Canada. Enables the "refugees" to collect more than one welfare check every month.

The media may be free to air whatever it wants- but the airways belong to the federal government.

Really? The only thing that the federal government "possesses" is the District of Columbia. The airwaves are public domain...the government "regulates" the airwaves, it doesn't "own" them.

His proposal, regardless of its merit, will be summarily dismissed by the parties in power.

You are probably correct, however it is refreshing to hear at least ONE congressman presenting the facts and reinforcing the notion that we are a Constitutional Republic. That's a damn sight more than can be said of the rest of Congress, the presidency and the Judiciary.

These days I should also add a considerable number of freepers to that list. When you have people like Dog Gone here arguing that a 100 year old treaty supercedes the Constitution then we know public schooling has come here to roost. I thought we had moved beyond PC101. Guess I was wrong.

So whatever success Ron Paul achieves with the only constitutional proposal to surface to date, it is worth noting that it isn't from lack of trying for fear of failure. Secondly, by it's introduction it serves a double role of educating, which is a damn sight more than can be expected from the DoE!

So the president told you that we are under martial law and didn't tell the rest of us?

Look at a flag lately? What do you think the gold fringe is for? Notice the NG at airports? They aren't the police are they? You think that Bush would announce martial law? Doubtful, especially considering we've been under martial law since WW2 or earlier. Why state the obvious.

    Yes, of course it is.

Any religion that does not recognize the need for a seperation of church and state is a step backwards in terms of western political thought. The muslims are no friends of the west. Let's accept that and find fault where it really lies...combining church and state is anathema to republican principals.

That said, the enemy before us does not recognize that principal. The only way to undermine their mind set is by example...to demonstrate the power of a true Republic. The very idea that the USG would rather replace a theocracy with a monarchy should give us all pause. I have never, ever seen the USG actively espouse a Republican form of government as a solution to the internal rivalry and bickering that characterizes the majority of nations.

Invariably it supports oligarchy of any stripe, but never freedom...no matter how many times the State Department repeats the mantra "democracy".

Well that's the point isn'tit? Freedom is about dreams...and fullfilling them.

I hardly see a problem with a holster and gun. I think that if an outlaw element exists in our neighborhood, and the local police are not up to the job, then just as people in the west had to do out of necessity, strap on your six-gun.

Just because we now exist in a world of ignorance does not mean we can't aspire to better. In my mind it will be the ignorant who will fall victim to the NWO agenda, and who will be first at risk. Like sheep. IMO survival of self is becoming paramount, especially if the current pattern of hysterical acquiessence of liberty to security continues. Even more importantly is the survival of common sense in the face of the present "putsch" for ignorance.

And if they do...we pick up the tab as taxpayers? Right now the feds are already handing out money hand over fist to all corporate comers. So shifting the burden of "homeland defense" to private business would only redirect the money flow and cost more. As well it is much better to bring troops into the public and private domain so we all get the message. It is called martial law. Get used to it.

Does the term 'corporate fascism" ring any bells here? After all, isn't Afghanistan really only about an oil pipeline? This isn't a war on terrorism, it's a war for globalism.

No argument. If private industry wants to assume a stance against bearing arms on private property or in private service then that is their right. Let the market then decide the wisdom of their policies. However, to all intents and purposes, the executive has assumed a de facto control of airspace in our nation...thereby preempting private policies via licensing and permits and their attendent regulations.

Since the prohibition of the 2nd amendment is directed at the federal government it's assumption of public domain does still not give it the right to pass rules and regulations that accomplish what federal law cannot...disarm Sovereign Civilians. If private or public entities do not allow the pilots to be armed then it is obvious then that Citizens must do so for their OWN protection.

The Constituition has worked pretty well for 200 years, if we'd only pay attention to it.

You mean to say IF we had paid attention to it the Constitution would have worked pretty well. Let's face it, we haven't paid attention.

One other note - during the election debates Bush was fond of saying that he would uphold law & order when elected president...but never, ever said he would uphold the Constitution.

Must have been rough on him when he actually had to swear in.

Everyone who is authorized to carry a gun should not only be allowed, but encouraged to check in with their sidearm for any flight.

According to my research (I read the Constitution) everyone has the right to bear arms, no 'authorization' needed.

So basically, the government and its flunkies are telling us that capitalism got people mad at us. It certainly wasn't anything the US government was doing. The US government takes care of us. You must believe that. Because if you don't, you're unpatriotic.

The naked grab for power by the USG in the wake of the WTC tragedy and the subsequent photo ops pursued by politicians of all stripes only feeds my cynicism of their motives and motivation. I love the Republic and the Constitution. If I risk being labeled as unpatriotic for noting the same tendency today for war-mongering and power-grabbing by Congress as in times past, and the subsequent shelving of Constitutional limits and Republican principles, then so be it.

Now, more than ever, vigilance must prevail.

It's more than that. It is a mainstay policy of the federal government, no matter who is heading the executive, to disarm American Citizens while arming internal "security" forces.
