I’ve fed my last 4 dogs nothing but Purina Kibbles and Bits. Not a single vet visit outside of obligatory shots, and they’ve lived for 14, 13, 15, and the lastest is now 11 and still going strong.

Stick with a reliable brand, and avoid jumping on the bandwagon.

Not necessarily. If the merchant was in an overtaking
position, it would have signalled the Fitz it’s intentions. If the Fitz was bearing to the left of the traffic lane, then the merchant would have signalled that it was overtaking on the starboard side. (correlates with damage). The Fitz was most likely at slow speed, waiting for first light to make approach to Yokosuka. The Merchant was making about 15 kts. If the bridge crew were signalled properly, and were in communication with the ship on bridge to bridge, they would accept the close passage to starboard. No reason to suspect anything outside a friendly port.

Then, as the merchant pulled just slightly ahead of the starboard beam of the Fitz, a quick sharp turn to port would have closed the distance in slightly over a minute.

Have you ever been on a ship approaching a busy harbor at night? No? ok, then don’t speak on things you don’t comprehend. In that area of the ocean, there are literally hundreds of ships, boats, and other watercraft. In such a busy shipping lane, the US Warship as are the merchants are bound by the International rules of the road. Someone violated them. The sad thing is, even it was the merchant - the Captain of the Fitzerald will still be held accountable.

As a quick substitute, you can create a google account, and upload the files to google drive. 32 bit or 64 bit is irrelevant to file formats, only the program you are using.

Office (64 bit) won’t run on a 32 bit machine, but the 32 bit version will run on either 32 or 64 bit machines.

Unless you need the full functionality of Microsoft Office, Google Docs (word processing) or Sheets (spreadsheets) should serve you well, as well as the open source versions offered.

Or, maybe those who don’t think that all bikers are outlaws were out working to support their families?

Whatever happened to guilty until proven innocent and other rights of accused persons in this country?

You just toss them out because those caught up in this event somehow don’t meet your expectations of law abiding citizens?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they have rights and those who are actively working to subdue or deny them will eventually have their own day in court unless people like you support them in their suppression and denial of the rights of citizens.

As for me, I was dressed up in leathers riding with a large group of American Legion Riders. Honorably discharged Veterans who choose to ride. We met people like you throughout the day who derided us based on our appearance and gave not a moments worth of thought to the reason for our ride or what we have accomplished.

The real THUGS in this thread are those who refuse to believe that any of those accused may be innocent until proven guilty, or that any statement by a Government official is the unvarnished truth, and that all those caught up in this event need to be pushed under the jail until the Criminal Justice system can come up with something to justify their denial of rights to those arrested in the event.

My last bit of evidence was owned by my next door neighbor who was the beard for his “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” Air Force wife who definitely led a different lifestyle when she was home away from her day job.

Even down here in the Podunk south, all of our buses have

everytime a child stands up when the bus is in motion, and
kids are removed from the bus every day for misbehavior.

The short answer is neither, at least for a number of years.
The demo is transmitting 50GB/s of data over a short distance of 50 meters, and is unsuitable for long haul transmission, ie, the internet tubes.
Your PC is still limited by bus speeds, and cannot handle data being delivered at these speeds.
However this is good news for data centers and server farms that routinely experience bottle necks in replicating massive amounts of data among dozens of computers.

I ONLY want answers to my questions, as posed.

I NEED TO KNOW how Windows handles a packet if it gets plunked on his lap but he realizes it’s not for him.

Thanks, but I am not trying to set up some network so perfect my name would go down in history for it, and me, myself, and I am the ONLY user.

In answer to your question, what does windows do when a packet is not addressed to it? It simply drops the packet. If the node you are send to is not on your network, the packet eventually expires.

If you're the only user, why are you trying to complicate things by creating a second network? Keep everything on 192.168.0.x Most things appear to work, it's only the communication between your host adapter and the virtual application, whatever the hell that is, that isn't working.

Also, put out of your mind that we are talking about VMWARE in any way. What I will say is it is a “virtual machine” type application that the host communicates with through TUN/TAP.

Ok, so you want everyone to shoot in the dark troubleshooting YOUR mysterious "virtual machine" type application, and then you get all testy by telling us to "put it out of your minds". You might want to rethink that approach when asking for help.

Everything between the host and the virtual machine works perfect, I can FTP, I can TELNET, I can PING, I can see all of the virtual machines TCPIP ports from the host. But I cannot see the virtual machine from any other machine on the same network as the host.

You can pull your ethernet cable, and ping yourself all day long.

You may just be out of luck with that mysterious application on W2K. By virtue of you mentioning TUN/TAP almost as an afterthought, it sounds as though you need a bridge to gap the two adapters for Tunneling, and that doesn't work very nicely under Windows 2000.

It appears your network is configured correctly, the problem lies between the Host Software (XP, correct?) and the virtual program.

A couple of things to try.

    1. Assign the 192.168.0.100 address to the XP network adapter as a secondary IP address. You will have to set the adapter up with a static IP address first, using it's current address of 192.168.0.70. Make sure you put in the correct netmask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.0.1

Then under advanced, assign the secondary IP. Since it's in the same network, you won't have to add another netmask and gateway.

    2. Some Virtual programs aren't real good at detecting host system hardware. They may put a virtual adapter in your hardware manager, but don't recognize the adapter. Check hardware manager to see if one is added, and is ok. (Not Red X'd or Yellow Exclamated). Also check your network connections to make sure if a virtual adapter is added there, it's enabled and has the proper address information.

    3. Still other Virtual programs run a networking component under Windows services to handle the TCP/IP transfer from the host adapter to the virtual adapter. Check windows services to see if something has been added, and is not disabled, or has a problem running.

In the interest of accuracy, that is not exactly true. There are “communities” and neighborhoods that are primarily Catholic, and the Point in Biloxi has a large Croatian community, but what you posted is not true for the Coast as a whole.

It’s a very diverse mix, but one thing holds us together that doesn’t seem to be true elsewhere ... we all love the coast or we wouldn’t be here. What WOULD blow the national media’s mind is that when adversity hits, we all join together, instead of pointing fingers, assigning blame, or playing any sort of a “card” to get a leg up on our neighbors.

One of the most poignant memories of the post Katrina recovery, was watching a group of Mennonites descend on a Vietnamese (Buddhist) neighborhood in East Biloxi shovels in hand, and the bonds that these two very diverse groups formed.

Both residents and volunteers alike camped out and were fed by a group of Jewish volunteers from a Synagogue in St. Louis.

And now we have the “one” and his media pimps telling us how to all “get along”.

NASA, like the military, works best when you give them a VERY SPECIFIC mission, direct orders to accomplish the mission, and provides a well defined budget to do it in.

In the absence of any specific direction, NASA is no better than any other government organization. Protect the rice bowls at any cost, and protect jobs.

The problems we’re seeing with NASA, is not NASA or those who work there, but a lack of leadership. An Obama presidency guarantees that there will be at least 4 more years of no leadership.
