Here is the latest news on little Allie Rose. Allie is 4 years old and still in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In January Allie became very sick and her illness was a puzzle to medical people. She slipped into a coma and was in that state for about 6 weeks. I just got an update from my daughter in law about Allie. Here is what I heard. Allie has progressed to the point that she has been moved off of ICU and to a floor where she will be receiving various therapies. Her major long-term problems are her being “slow” and always in need of care and giving her back her ability to speak clearly. During intubation Allie bit off a piece of her tongue and at this point there has been only so much that could be done to fix it. The major short-term problems are getting her strength...

As I mentioned earlier, in the initial report of Allie's condition the stress and shock caused me to miss a typo on our little angel's name. I just got an update from my daughter in law about Allie. Here is what I heard. Allie smiled today! That can be a very significant development!!! This all started with the Flu which attacked Allie's heart which reduced the flow of oxygen to her brain which has caused some level of damage. Doctors were able to remove her breathing tube, so Allie is breathing on her own. She is still on dialysis and unfortunately not very responsive. The prognosis for her recovery seems to be better with Allie's appropriate smile. Maybe our prayers can bring Allie to full health....

As I have reported, 4 year old Allie, a member of my extended family was in ICU in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) being treated for a serious infection of unknown origin. Because of the great care and attention Allie is getting, she has rallied and is now on a path to recovery and return to her mom and dad. Because of some of the extreme effects of her illness, Allie has been left with some brain damage. Three friends and their families are in urgent need of prayers. Michael is a young father of two small children and loving husband to his wife. He had beaten leukemia and was cancer free, but has just been told it has roared back and he has just six months to live. Laurette and Bobby are an elderly couple. She has cancer and has been put into home hospice. Bobby is beside himself with grief. Pray that Laurette and Bobby will turn to Jesus and accept Him before it is too late
