2 Samuel- 14 In the morning it happened that David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the [c]hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die.”

In this morning’s mail I received a fund raising request from Ted Cruz stating that he has officially introduced legislation to add a Term Limits Amendment to the Constitution. Now, I’ve been preaching term limits for about thirty years (see my tagline), so it definitely got my attention. BUT...this mailing is the first I’ve heard about the proposal. Have any other FReepers seen it reported?

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – San Antonio City Council has approved a resolution ‘combating hate speech’ in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Ron Nirenberg proposed the resolution, citing hate crimes, discrimination and aggression against Asians and members of the Jewish community across the country. It states that COVID-19 is a public health issue, not a racial, religious or ethnic one, and that the use of terms such as “Chinese virus” or “Kung Fu virus” encourages hate crimes against Asians. The resolution also says the Jewish community has been targeted with blame and conspiracy theories about spreading COVID_19 and...

From my FReeper profile, with the latest update: Heart attack survivor end of June 2011, stented, finished cardiac rehab and back to playing B'ball. Update: My cardiologist ordered me to have a follow-up stress test in May '17. The display showed an anomaly, so he recommended a catheterization procedure in July. The stent was blocked and other blockage was found and fixed. God has been better to me than I deserve. If you have not done so, HAVE A STRESS TEST. I had no symptoms like weakness or shortness of breath, playing ball 2-4 times a week and running a...

Joe Lieberman has long been many Republicans favorite Democrat. Not because he’s particularly conservative but because he’s an honest, well-meaning politician… and there aren’t many of those around anymore. Lieberman is in the news again now because he’s penned an op-ed criticizing his party’s shift to the left. Lieberman argues that if Democratic-Socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez truly are the future of the Democrat Party, then the Democrat Party doesn’t have a very bright future ahead. Really the point was, what is the Democratic party going to be? I am still a Democrat and when I see somebody that really says...

Are you literally FEEDING cancer cells by putting this one food on your dinner plate? This is important. You must stop eating this food today or you could be growing cancer cells. Now here's where it gets really interesting... As soon as you STOP eating it, the opposite happens: Cancer cells STARVE to death -- and die out by the thousands. Skeptical? See the proof here.

I recommend that all FReepers who have not had a recent stress test have one performed. I survived a heart attack in 2011 and have had twice-a-year follow up visits with my cardiologist. In May he scheduled me for a stress test as it had been years since I had one. He found anomalies in the display (lower blood supply to the heart muscle under stress than while at rest) and recommended a cardiac catheterization procedure. They found a new blockage and the old stent was blocked. They did the required repairs and I feel fine. God has been better...

At a hospital entrance in Pakistan, a man detonated his explosive suicide vest, killing 67 people and injuring as many as 92 others. The suicide attack took place in the city of Quetta – the capital city of Pakistan’s southwestern province of Baluchistan. Early Monday morning, a prominent lawyer Bilal Kasi in Baluchistan had been shot and killed on the way to his office. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, and nearly 100 fellow lawyers came to the hospital in his honor. That’s when the suicide bomber detonated himself. Most of the victims were lawyers with the Baluchistan Bar...

Fear Islam? In Sunday’s feature on the fear of Islam I noticed one topic conspicuous by its absence. Taqiyya is the Muslim policy of lying to the Infidel to protect, promote or advance Islam. Neither of the two Islamic scholars mentioned it, even in passing. No reference to it was found in the polling questions, nor in the comments about them. Because taqiyya is a tenet of Islam, how can you believe any Muslim who claims to be opposed to Jihad or to reject Sharia law? Those who do so sincerely are considered apostates by Islam, as deserving of death...

Advocates life sentence for people who have not committed a crime (Infowars) – Retired US Army General and the former Supreme Allied Commander of Europe for NATO Wesley Clark advocates rounding up “radicalized” and “disloyal” Americans and putting them in internment camps for the “duration” of the war on terror. “In World War II if someone supported Nazi Germany at the expense of the United States, we didn’t say that was freedom of speech, we put him in a camp, they were prisoners of war,” Clark told MSNBC. The difference is that World War II was a war declared under...
