My first vanity, but I'm sure many of you are thinking the same. Looks like POTUS will be facing Biden in the Fall. At some point (maybe soon), POTUS should challenge Biden to get a neurological test at best hospital/clinic (Mayo?). He could suggest they both get the test and release them simultaneously to the public. I suspect Biden will not for it, because I honestly think he has cognitive issues. At the same time, Trump could take the test (which I believe will show no issues) and basically goad Biden....as I said a vanity. Indulge me on this Friday...

This is a Dem blogger and he was initially convinced that Clinton had Fl, but is singing a different tune looking at the REAL early vote numbers. Once again, this is proof solid that all the polling models which showed her ridiculously ahead in FL (and nationally) are flawed. Happy Monday!

Another good day for the registered Republicans and relevant poor day for registered Democrats. The good guys continue to show up more than they did in 2012 and the Democrats are fewer, especially black voters. Unaffiliated votes are the biggest surprise this time as 35% more of them early voting relative to 2016. Interestingly, in this poll, she won the debate by 48-43, BUT it did not sway too many people (only 5% said they changed their mind and most actually moved towards Trump) Who would you vote for is in favor of Trump 48-43! Eat that CNN...

In a sharp turnaround in an already volatile election season, support for Hillary Clinton tumbled as Donald Trump made gains over the past month, leaving the race a virtual tie. The latest IBD/TIPP Poll shows that Clinton is now ahead of Trump by just one percentage point, 44% to 43% among likely voters. Last month, Clinton had a seven-point lead over Trump — 46% to 39% -- among registered voters.

Britons took to Twitter to mock the Republican candidate following show. Users ridiculed Trump for not answering questions and repeating himself. The 'cringe' encounter was shown in full on Friday after segments aired on Good Morning Britain earlier this week.

Charlie Crist received a bounce in the polls when he left the Republican Party to run for the U.S. Senate as an independent. New numbers suggest that the bounce for the governor is over. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Florida finds Republican Marco Rubio with 39% support, while Crist earns 31% of the vote and Democrat Kendrick Meek trails at 18%. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided.

Senate rejects Nelson amendment on abortion

Washington (CNN) – Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., who last week insisted that the Senate health care bill include tight restrictions passed by the House on the use of federal money for abortion coverage, now says he would be satisfied with the less restrictive language approved by the Senate Finance Committee.

Watching Peter Hart conduct a focus group of undecideds. Looks like good news for McCain. To start out with Peter Hard (a Demoncrat pollster) is trying his best to pump Obama and diminish Palin, although he's subtle about it. Of the 12, there's a PUMA there who is pissed off with Obama who's voting for McCain. The final count McCain 7 and Obama 5. On a side note, Peter Hart said these folk were undecided and that he whittled out the partisan, but after hearing these guys, I agree with many that there are no real undecides - these guys...

It was the most important single showdown in the most expensive campaign in the history of democracy, so it was bound to begin with edgy, cautious manoeuvring and end with rival claims of victory. Neither Mr McCain nor Mr Obama was compelling on the economy And indeed that is exactly how it did unfold - with the spin doctors for Barack Obama and John McCain all claiming that their man had carried the evening.

The Democratic National Convention has begun and the poll numbers are bouncing, but not in the direction that most people anticipated.
