Thanks for the link. It only took a few minutes to respond.
I realize the Chinese gov’t can be very stubborn in their repression, but I do not think the rest of the world should be supporting their violence, either actively or tacitly.
(Just think, many of us might need heparin some day!)
"But evangelicals reject Romney out of hand because he is a Mormon.
I don't reject OR accept Romney for religious reasons - my mind (and vote) are still open. However, I do reject Newt for moral/ethical reasons What he did to his wife was brutal and unforgiveable.
"I personally admire Newt, and would love to see him as President... but, my wife heard on Oprah that he divorced his wife while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer.... She won't even listen to him for 5 seconds. She reacts to Newt the way I do to Hillary."
I'm with your wife! I'm not sure where I heard it (years ago) but it has stayed with me. Anyone who would inform his wife of his divorce plans while she's in the hospital being treated for cancer is a lowlife and will not EVER get my vote.

This woman's story is horrific and encouraging at the same time. Certainly it shows the strength of the human spirit.
I am glad an American Pakistani doctor helped her and that there is some progress in Pakistan toward accepting this abominable behavior as a crime. But still it just reenforces my belief that ultimately we are engaged in a culture war.
