Outstanding article, and I couldn't agree with you more.
If we get the 16th Amendment repealed and the FairTax implemented, you will have the whole country jumping on the GOP bandwagon. I think they realize what an historic achievement that would be, and I sincerely hope they go for it.
I am in Oklahoma voting for Coburn because I want the Republicans to maintain control of the Senate. Other than that he doesn't really knock my socks off. I think that is why it is such a close race.
Wow, there is some interesting reading in your timeline there!
Kerry tells the Harvard Crimson, I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations . . . to almost eliminate CIA activity. The CIA is fighting its own war in Laos and nobody seems to care." He also favors a negative income tax and keeping unemployment at a very low level, "even if it means selective economic controls."
You forgot the last chapter: November 2004 - Kerry gets his ace handed to him in a landslide after making the mistake of telling George W. Bush to go get his shinebox!
Having someone like Moore in the building reminds the GOP faithful that they need to unite against the evil he represents. His presence minimizes the temptation to squabble about issues that will harm their cause in November. Moore is, quite simply, being used by the GOP.
You are absolutely right. It is people like him and the freaks running aroung trying to disrupt the convention that will send the middle of the road people straight to the GOP.
