Moore: Can't Believe 'Dumb' GOP

(AP) Already a box office sensation, Michigan filmmaker Michael Moore has gotten another loud reception at the Republican convention. This time, it was boos.

When Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told the delegates Monday about "a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq was an oasis of peace," they knew he was referring to the maker of "Fahrenheit 9-11." The film, which savages Mr. Bush's Iraq policy, has set a box office record for documentaries, grossing $115 million so far.

McCain's comments prompted prolonged booing and chants of "Four more years." Many of the delegates faced Moore, who was seated in the press seats at Madison Square Garden because he is writing a column this week for USA Today.

Moore seemed to relish the attention, thrusting his arms over his head, laughing and saying, "Two more months."

Asked about McCain's remarks, Moore said, "I can't believe they're dumb enough to bring up the film and help its box office."

On the eve of the convention Moore along with Jesse Jackson and actor Danny Glover led a protest march through the streets of New York City, loudly and exuberantly chanting slogans such as "No more years." They accused the Bush White House of prosecuting an unjust war in Iraq, making the country poorer and undermining abortion rights.

Having someone like Moore in the building reminds the GOP faithful that they need to unite against the evil he represents. His presence minimizes the temptation to squabble about issues that will harm their cause in November. Moore is, quite simply, being used by the GOP.

You are absolutely right. It is people like him and the freaks running aroung trying to disrupt the convention that will send the middle of the road people straight to the GOP.

Haters love to be insulted in return. It's red meat to them.

Haven't you ever seen anyone get cut off in a car. They give the finger, the other driver curses them back, and back and forth they go.

I found out a long time ago the best way to handle them is kill them with goodness. I roll down the window and say, "God bless you." When they curse me back, I say, "I know you don't mean it. I know you are just having a bad day."

They usually end up so angry they nearly drive off the road. It's the worst thing you can do to them, not take their anger seriously.

By the way, a woman went up to Moore at the RNC and said he needed God, or something like that. He told her to "F*** off".

I bet that woman got under his skin more than all the booing at the convention. Types like that hate it when you don't validate their hatred.

I don't think this helps his cause at all. In fact, he is leaving the Convention. Michael Moore is the new "get out the vote" figure for the Republican Party. He is hated and I am sure the reason he is leaving is because the Dems told him to leave.

The Dems loved F911 but have lately distanced themselves from it because polling data is showing it is not helping the Democrats cause. It is actually making Repub. and Vets more mad and is getting them to be foot soldiers for the Bush campaign.

And if anything I think it assures a bigger audience for President Bush's acceptance speech.

Harvey Weinstein and Michael Moore have made a ton of money with his movie, but the facts are it has not changed one vote in favor of Kerry other then the liberal, Democrat scum that went to see the movie. All those morons did was fill the pockets of Harvey Weinstein and Michael Moore! Moore in a non-entity!!!

More people listen to Rush Limbaugh in a week than have seen Axis Mikey's film in 11 weeks.

You guys are starting to sound like the left with all the personal attacks.
Can we get beyond this guys girth and remember that it is his lying propaganda that is infinitely more disgusting than anyones personal appearence?

The plain truth is, he distorts the facts and his attire with a cap and shirt at a Presidential Convention shows his depth in respect. My view is......"If you act like a fat jerk, you will be criticized as a fat jerk." (by the way - he is fat)
