(AP) Already a box office sensation, Michigan filmmaker Michael Moore has gotten another loud reception at the Republican convention. This time, it was boos.
When Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told the delegates Monday about "a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq was an oasis of peace," they knew he was referring to the maker of "Fahrenheit 9-11." The film, which savages Mr. Bush's Iraq policy, has set a box office record for documentaries, grossing $115 million so far.
McCain's comments prompted prolonged booing and chants of "Four more years." Many of the delegates faced Moore, who was seated in the press seats at Madison Square Garden because he is writing a column this week for USA Today.
Moore seemed to relish the attention, thrusting his arms over his head, laughing and saying, "Two more months."
Asked about McCain's remarks, Moore said, "I can't believe they're dumb enough to bring up the film and help its box office."
On the eve of the convention Moore along with Jesse Jackson and actor Danny Glover led a protest march through the streets of New York City, loudly and exuberantly chanting slogans such as "No more years." They accused the Bush White House of prosecuting an unjust war in Iraq, making the country poorer and undermining abortion rights.

Having someone like Moore in the building reminds the GOP faithful that they need to unite against the evil he represents.
His presence minimizes the temptation to squabble about issues that will harm their cause in November.
Moore is, quite simply, being used by the GOP.
It's always about self-promotion for him. Getting boo's means at least he's being noticed!
If anything it will only help the ratings for the RNC, all of the sheeple who wanted to see Moore's propaganda piece have already seen it.
Wanted: A gal with an ass half as wide as mine, something oh about this wide..."
What did GHWB call him? That big slobby guy? LOL
I would not mind spending 30 days in the slam for beating him up. It would be a 50/50 chance of jail or the keys to the city depending....
Just a little McCain "street theater". I don't think there's a lot of harm here. Like Kerry, every opportunity to meet the real Michael Moore is an excellent opportunity to see the "little" man for who he really is.
Moore's too stupid to understand that his presence at the GOP convention hurts Kerry. The majority of the populace despise that slob and feel more warmly toward Bush because of him. Compare the effects of the Swiftboat ads to Moore's lying movie. Bush wasn't hurt a bit by Fraudenheit 9/11. Moore's failed completely at his goal of taking Bush down.
Yes, that was hilarious!
"He looks like a baby. Get in my belly."
I'd love to run into him in a dark alley.
I can't believe this fat bastard is helping GWB win the white house!!
Nothing like fatty to roil the republican base. Every time he sticks his head out, its one more point for Dubia.
Moore does not care. It's an act. He's in it for the money. As soon as Moore figures out a way to make money doing the opposite of what he's doing he will.
I call this this flip-flopping for cash. Or, the Judicial Watch methodology of raising money.
Its because, despite everything the media would have us believe, Republicans are actually polite people and gracious in their victories.
Your Dad still with us?
I was on Iwo as a Battle Sites guide for the SecNav in 2001.
If he is, shake his hand for me. GUTS took that island. I stood atop Suribachi and shivered. The beach area was wide open and a BLIND MAN could have shot down there and hit someone. When I stood in the Ampitheater, I wondered how the HELL those Leathernecks made it. GOD BLESS HIM!
