Outstanding article, and I couldn't agree with you more.

If we get the 16th Amendment repealed and the FairTax implemented, you will have the whole country jumping on the GOP bandwagon. I think they realize what an historic achievement that would be, and I sincerely hope they go for it.

I personally don't see the pair Tax plan as the ideal model. There seems to be too many avenues that open it up for tinkering (congressional logrolling) down the road; such as: what will constitute a finished good, the ceiling placed on the rebates, adjustments (upward) of the sales tax rate, and easily added sales tax rate tiers for "luxury" purchases.
