  • Texas woman gives birth to twins--from different fathers

The 11-month-old twin boys born to a Texas mom have a lot in common, but one thing they don't share is a father. That's because their mother, Mia Washington, cheated on her partner, James Harrison, according the the Daily Mail, and her fling resulted in a one-in-a-million double conception. The result is that one twin, Jordan, is James's son but the other one, Justin, was fathered by a man whose identity has not been released.

Is Fox News host Glenn Beck our own Father Charles Coughlin, the "radio priest" who railed against Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1930s? That's become a common refrain among liberals, who hear echoes of Coughlin in Beck's attacks on President Obama. Conservatives recoil at the charge, of course...

Sorry for the vanity post, but things are getting out of hand. For eight years I listened to people, including friends, bash Bush. In that time I heard everything from "Bush is dumb" to "Bush is dangerous" to "Bush is ruining our country" to "Bush is a Fascist." Since I of course believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I can respectfully listen and disagree, I didn't butt heads with them. I would, on occasion, attempt to introduce logic and balance (and facts) into their rants, but logic and reason evidently do not exist in the liberal world...
  • Hulk Hogan: "I Totally Understand OJ"

    04/16/2009 7:10:58 AM PDT · by fleagle · 43 replies · 1,441+ views
In the new issue of Rolling Stone, Hulk Hogan goes off on his wife Linda Bollea, 48, for leaving him for "some shaggy-haired pool boy 30 years her junior." "I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat," says Hogan, 55. (Simpson was acquitted of killing his ex wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1995.)

  • On race, blacks are cowards, too

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is catching flak for saying during Black History Month that on matters of race, the United States is "essentially a nation of cowards" in too many ways. Holder, the first black to head the Justice Department, is absolutely right. Based on responses to his remarks, most people assume that the "cowards" Holder refers to are white Americans. Most blacks are cheering the attorney general for his forthrightness, and many whites, especially conservatives, are angry and resentful. Still others are just plain surprised by the audacity of the observation after millions of white people voted to...

WESTON, Vermont - For 64 years, it's been a U.S. mailbox staple, offering home remedies, kitchen wares and long-forgotten brands in hopes of helping consumers solve life's little problems, from spider veins to unwanted nose hair. But recently, the Vermont Country Store catalog made a surprising addition: sex aids.

Vice President Spiro Agnew "On the National Media" Speech Delivered at Des Moines, Iowa November 13, 1969 Tonight I want to discuss the importance of the television-news medium to the American people. No nation depends more on the intelligent judgment of its citizens. No medium has a more profound influence over public opinion. Nowhere in our system are there fewer checks on vast power. So, nowhere should there be more conscientious responsibility exercised than by the news media. The question is: Are we demanding enough of our television news presentations? And, are the men of this medium demanding enough of...

TIM Robbins' and Susan Sarandon's mission to protect the poor and needy doesn't apply to their Greenwich Village neighborhood. The Oscar-winning liberals recently attended a Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing to oppose St. Vincent's plea to build a new, larger hospital on West 12th Street, three blocks from their home.

It took Mary Vargas six months and repeated hormone shots to get pregnant with her second child. “We were so excited,” Vargas, 35, remembers about the day she learned the treatments had worked. “We wanted this baby with every fiber of our beings.” In February 2005, her husband brought a video camera to record their sonogram at almost 19 weeks, because, Vargas says, “we wanted to appreciate every moment of this child’s life.” The technician revealed they were having another son. But partway through the exam, she fell silent.

There were seven of us gathered in the Red Wall Hotel in Beijing—an Australian criminal lawyer for the insane, a Scottish lord living out his 007 fantasies, two communism-curious retired Italian mechanics, a retired Italian pilot who made a sport of traveling to the world's most inaccessible places and a young Italian accountant living in Austria. And me, the not-so-secret journalist from Canada who was surprised to even be invited. We had all signed up for a most peculiar adventure: we were going to North Korea. As tourists.

A shirtless madman wielding stolen knives went on a bloody midtown rampage yesterday - stabbing a restaurant worker and a psychologist walking her dog before being shot by an off-duty cop, authorities said. Deranged Lee Coleman stood wild-eyed over the dog-walker, methodically plunging a knife into her body and face over and over - even pausing to change knives as the woman lay in a pool of blood, screaming for help.

On Dec. 5, Newsweek magazine touted an interview with then-incoming House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rep. Silvestre Reyes as an "exclusive." And for good reason. "In a surprise twist in the debate over Iraq," the story began, Mr. Reyes "said he wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a 'stepped up effort to dismantle the militias.' " "We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq," the Texas Democrat said to the surprise of many, "I would say 20,000...
  • White House Spokesman Blasts Sen. Boxer's Exchange With Secretary Rice

WASHINGTON — The White House fired back Friday at Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer's verbal slap at Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, calling the California Democrat's caustic comments about Rice's family life "outrageous." Boxer lit into Rice on Thursday with bitter diatribe during a heated line of questioning before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee looking into Iraq policies. At one point, Boxer turned to the broad question of who pays the ultimate price for war. Rice has never married and has no children.

Throughout the Berger affair, we were repeatedly assured that former National Security Advisor Sanyd Berger could not have destroyed any documents that the government did not have copies of. He could not, as a result, have been part of a cover-up of Clinton's disastrous fecklessness towards al Qaeda. It was this assurance that led many to view the episode as criminal buffoonery, rather than serious felonious conduct. The release of the Berger Report by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform changes that understanding, and makes the decision by the Department of Justice to give Berger the slightest of wrist...

A new Congress convenes today with a narrow Democratic majority lording over a despondent Republican minority. While the full weight of Republicans' powerlessness sinks in after 12 years of control, Democrats are celebrating the historic election today of the first female speaker of the House. "We have waited over 200 years for this time to come," Mrs. Pelosi said on the eve of her selection as speaker, a position that makes her second in line to the presidency after Vice President Dick Cheney. "We will not just break through a glass ceiling, we will break through a marble ceiling," she...

In other words, did someone do this to him?"
