In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats. Op-ed writer Lois Beckett also admitted that once the term was manufactured and used to outlaw a class of weapons that dishonest anti-gun Democrats had used to con an entire nation, nothing happened . It was much the same in the early 1990s when Democrats created and then banned a category of guns they called “assault weapons.” America was then suffering from a spike in gun crime and it seemed like a problem threatening everyone. Gun murders...

Bittersweet reminiscences at age 82 by one of my all-time favorite comedians. Some funny skits; some recounting of unpleasant memories of his family and early years before joining the marines at age 17, and his struggles with bipolar-ism. Obviously this is not for everyone. But if you enjoyed his comedy and every wondered what made him tick, I think you will find watching worthwhile (about 30 mins)

There is a reason why the question below, from a Hong Kong elementary school test, is making the rounds on the internet. Most adults can't solve it – not for want of math skills, but because most of them have lost the child's ability of unconventional thinking. Instead, they have acquired the debilitating unwillingness to try a different perspective. - Anyone can misjudge the facts due to the wrong vantage point. But while some will admit their mistake and will try to look at things differently, a moral relativist will insist that his perspective doesn't need changing and will blame...

A teenager playing “knockout game” punched a Florida man in the face after making certain he was not carrying a gun, the victim told police. According to a witness who saw the attack unfold, a teenager approached a man who was walking alone on Neptune Beach on July 31, the Florida Times-Union reported Friday. According to the victim, the teen, who was with three accomplices, asked him if he had a “glock.” While Glock is a weapons manufacturer, the term “glock” is also used generically to describe any type of handgun. After the man said that he did not have...

.......Plans to demolish the illegal camp known as Jungle 2 have been delayed as there have been clashes between rival gangs of immigrants within the camps. As a result, the prefect of the Pas-de-Calais area, Denis Robin, said delegations would be sent in to speak to the migrants to prevent any further trouble. Mr Mignonet, who is also the town's deputy mayor, added: "People say we are not doing anything, but we can't stop the migrants going from Africa to Italy and making their way to England. We are just one town. "Europe should help us but they do nothing....

Garcia has her hands full. But when a soldier friend needed someone to give a temporary home to her German shepherd, Garcia didn't hesitate to help. "Taking on a German shepherd, I was like, 'Oh, this is going to be interesting,'" Garcia said. In the weeks since she assumed temporary care of Kaiser, the 7-year-old German shepherd has become like part of the family for Garcia. As soon as her friend gets settled at her new assignment in Florida, however, Garcia will turn the dog back over to his owner. In a military community like Fayetteville, the issue of what...

(CNSNews.com) – The French government says it is willing to grant asylum to Iraqi Christians in the face of a jihadist onslaught against them. “We are assisting displaced persons who are fleeing the Islamic State’s threats and seeking refuge in Kurdistan,” Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a joint statement this week. “Should they so wish, we are prepared to offer them asylum on our soil.” In Washington, meanwhile, a leading religious freedom advocate on Capitol Hill slammed both President Obama and Congress Tuesday for their “silence” about the plight of Iraq’s Christians, which he...

A rocket hit a fuel storage tank in a chaotic battle for Tripoli airport that has all but closed off international flights to Libya, leaving fire-fighters struggling to extinguish a giant conflagration. Foreign governments have looked on powerless as anarchy sweeps across the North African oil producer, three years after NATO bombardment helped topple dictator Muammar Gaddafi. They have urged nationals to leave Libya and have pulled diplomats out after two weeks of clashes among rival factions killed nearly 160 people in Tripoli and the eastern city of Benghazi.

Video only. Many Muslims in fact love dogs and have their own. These two went through considerable effort including, apparently, stripping off a belt from their car engine, and also personal risk, to save this one. Which was not their dog!

A letter sent to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto by Ohio Sheriff Richard Jones of Butler County charging him for all the undocumented immigrants in his jail has caused more trouble than expected. Following the letter being sent, Sheriff Jones received correspondence from the federal government. “The federal government sends me a letter and said I violated a treaty of like, 1790,” Jones told Dana Loesch of The Blaze. What Jones shared next in the interview is even more startling. “I sent him a bill for the prisoners that are in my jail,” Jones said. “They came here illegally. I’ve...

CHILTON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - In a twist in the case of a former Thorsby teacher accused of rape and sodomy of a teen, the judge has postponed her sentencing due to a social media post. Jennifer McNeill was supposed to be sentenced on Thursday morning, but a Facebook post caused the judge to delay sentencing until August 7 at 8 a.m. The Facebook post indicated McNeill is innocent. Her attorney claims the victim, his mother and his brother hacked her Facebook account and made the post. However, the family denies that claim.

Maybe she should have left a note. The woman who left porcelain dolls on the porches of several young girls' homes in a California neighborhood was only trying to give away toys her own family had outgrown, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said today.

Do you remember Shirley Sherrod? She’s the former Department of Agriculture official caught on camera saying she denied a white farmer the full measure of benefits she could have given him, before later describing how she ended up rejecting this racist approach to her job. The late Andrew Breitbart posted excerpts of the Sherrod video that failed to include the part about how she overcame her racist impulse and ended up helping the white farmer. The Obama administration fired Sherrod after Breitbart posted the video. However, based on a review of the full video, Sherrod was offered a new position...

The Democratic Party creates its coalition by catering to a diverse group of ethnic interest groups, and sometimes the special interests of those special interest groups clash. In the following clip where people are talking about the border problems, we see a microcosm of the competing groups, as well as rifts within the black community itself. They may all be Democrats (it’s hard to know for sure), but they demonstrate a diversity of opinion and a great intensity of feeling. The Vietnam vet has a quiet firmness, and the earnest younger man in the black shirt who says “This make...
