Yes, like you, I’ve read accounts where stores like TSC would ask if you owned a horse.

I never had any trouble getting it right off the shelf at TSC...no questions, but I live in a semi-rural area, so it would be routine for people to buy the stuff.

Three years back when info was coming out about how effective IVM was treating Covid, TSC started locking up the stuff. I would run up to a feed store in a more rural area...no problem there at all. On the shelf.

I replenished my supply of the Durvet 1.87 horse paste two days ago at TSC. It’s back on the shelf now, but the injectable is still locked away.

I’ve been pondering the same thing since day one...seawater!

As you stated, introducing seawater into a municipal potable water system would open a can of worms, but...way better than zero water at hand for fire fighting.

I thought about dedicated fire suppression reservoirs up in the hills solely supplied with seawater as backup. A seawater pumping station at the shore connected to the reservoirs with a 12” main ought to do the trick...over time of course. There would be a substantial pumping head to overcome maybe needing a booster station part way up.

But then there are the seawater lines from the reservoirs servicing the non-potable, “fire only” hydrants. Oy...lots of infrastructure there, and I haven’t figured out how to pull it all off...yet.

Pay me $750K, and I’ll work on it. 😀

Nitpicking: Springfield is not known for building farm equipment. International Harvester, which is certainly known for farm equipment, built trucks there for decades. They are still cranking although under the restructured name of Navistar.

Funny...I bid on a genset installation adjacent to a local big time landfill. Base bid was for piping involving six 650kW Caterpillar units. The bid alternate was for pipe connections in case the owner wanted to install four additional gen units of 900kW!

That’s some huge fuel consumption if things go operational! Well...the six 650s are on line. Can’t speak for the 900s.

Source of fuel? The methane burping out of the landfill.

I live in Licking County Ohio which is immediately east of Columbus. Let me tell ya, it seems the entire western edge of my county is getting paved over with warehousing. On top of that we have multiple Amazon facilities along with a huge Google facility.

Currently a mega-size Intel plant is under construction in this general area. If I told you the number of crane booms on this Intel site that are visible from the nearest road, you wouldn’t believe me. I think my co-worker counted 30 on the last drive-by. And these rigs aren’t Joe Pesci size. Two 1200-tonners were recently moved in to set roof roof trusses.

Recently announced is another data center moving in to this area along with a Microsoft entity only about six miles from me as the goose flies.

All the above tripe I’ve written about is to preface my main point: it’s indescribable the amount of power transmission infrastructure that’s built or currenty under construction for this stuff...two HUGE substations along with many smaller ones situated at point-of-use. Adding to those are two Goliath size power transmission lines coming up from SE Ohio. I can’t accurately describe the amount of power construction that has happened and is happening.

Interesting to me is a good deal of these assets were put in place several years ago. AEP is the big bronco in this. What did they know and WHEN did they know it?
