"The Face of God" Michael & The Shroud of Turin | Dr. Jeremiah Johnston
This appeared on YouTube last night and it caught and held my attention. I've read/watched a lot about the shroud over the years, most of which has been pure scientific analysis. This is a fascinating analysis of how the evidence on the shroud lines up with Scripture, history and archaelogy. It's about an hour and half long, but well worth the watch.
I watched all of it last night. It was really good!
I’ve only heard of Dr. Johnston prior to this, but loved his passion and knowledge for this subject. He framed it in ways I’ve not heard aspects of it explained before.
There is another. A british physician who in the past did analysis of the covid issues, who looks at the pathological, scientists data. Geological data, and even biological data on the shroud.
His view is that it is authentic.
BTW, there is another piece of cloth out there. It is the cloth that covered the head. Dont remeber the name now but studies done on that clothe match the evidence on the shroud.
That's the Sudarium of Ovieto. It's discussed in this video, with respect to show the blood stains line up with those on the shroud.
Addingg: Jeremiah J. was on a Glenn Beck show a few weeks ago, sans the face cloth
You refer to the Sudarium of Oviedo. Blood pattern matches the shroud, but no image probably because it was used to cover the face between Calvary and the tomb, then removed when Jesus was wrapped in the shroud

Paleo geologist have determined that in the early spring of AD 33 a very violent earthquake happened.
Of course we all know of the NASA finding and dating a partial eclipse on or about April 3rd AD 33.
Geologist also found calcium minerals in the tape samples from the nose, knee and foot, etc from the figure on the shroud.
They may have let the cross fall with him on it, driving his face and body into the ground after his death.
Yes, that is it.
The limestone (calcium) and pollens are discussed in this video. I’ve seen other documentaries about the earthquake. Fascinating stuff.
I am not sure of Johnson’s contention that Jesus was a Nazirite, for three reasons: 1) Nazirites were not supposed to touch dead bodies 2) Nazirites were not to drink alcohol 3) the parents of other Nazirites in scripture were told that their sons would be Nazirites. Mary was not told that Jesus would be such.
Johnson stated that Jesus had a pony tail. That did not necessarily make Jesus a Nazirite, right?
My retired geologist professor friends and i discussed this way back when.
Last time i have talked to them was when the tonga volcano lit off.
I tell you, my email lit up that day.
“Did you see that?” I had no idea untill they told me to watch the news.
Geology is a interest of mine-hobby. Especially ancient geology.
Misses the point.
God came to earth and walked among them.
Matter of fact, i dont hold to the notion he would consider to be anyone other than what he was.
What is that smaller picture he is comparing to the Shroud?
They discuss the Sudarium of Oviedo, which many hold to be the headcloth placed over Jesus’ face after he was taken down from the cross and carried to the tomb before being wrapped in the shroud.
I have seen the docu of the cup also. Research was done by someone and claims it is the stone cup which is now in some monastery in Spain.
They made a recepticle to hold it and all that but, the studies done on it find the stone was original to the area.
A simple stone cup.
Over the years I have watched every video, read every article, listened to every pundit/clergy/scholar about the shroud.
There is ZERO doubt that the shroud is authentic and is the burial cloth of Jesus. It records a supernatural event unexplainable by any other means.
I concur - in this video they describe it as, “A natural effect of a supernatural event.”
I was sad to learn that Barrie Schwortz, technical photographer and founder of Shroud.org, passed away almost a year ago:

Sorry, should be ‘Shroud.com’.
