Dear Friends and Activists, Make no mistake, Trump will be a formidable candidate in the general election. We predicted that he would win the Republican nomination the night of the first Republican debate, when all the foolish pundits were dismissively writing him off. He plays to the worst side of people, and we have LOTS of people in our country with bad sides. And to beat him, whoever the Democrats end up nominating will need the support of all supporters of either Democratic candidate now. On our side there are many sincere people who frankly like Bernie Sanders better than...

SACRAMENTO (AP) -- A dispute over who leaked an affidavit detailing a corruption probe involving a state senator is heading to federal court in Los Angeles after a judge's action on Friday. Ron Calderon, then a Democratic state senator from Montebello, filed a complaint in November 2013 contending that federal authorities tried to ruin his reputation by raiding his offices and leaking an FBI affidavit alleging he took money in return for promoting bills. He was later indicted and faces trial in federal court in Los Angeles beginning Aug. 11 on charges that he accepted $100,000 in bribes, lavish trips...

NAPA, Calif. (AP) — The largest earthquake to hit the San Francisco Bay Area in 25 years sent scores of people to hospitals, ignited fires, damaged multiple historic buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands on Sunday. The 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck just before 3:30 a.m. miles from Napa in California wine country was felt widely, breaking water mains, causing more than 100 gas leaks, leaving two adults and a child critically injured, damaging some of Napa Valley's famed wineries, and sending residents running out of their homes in the darkness. Dazed residents too fearful of aftershocks to...

My wife's Dell 640 laptop has picked up some malware that affects the display. It shows up as faint rainbow colored horizontal bars across the screen, plus a circular, concentric, variable rainbow graphic in the upper left corner of the windows startup screen. The machine is running XP professional. The AVG software on the machine doesn't recognize it, nor did Trend Micro Housecall.

A California congressman says voters, Congress and the courts all have cleared Barack Obama's eligibility to be president. The comments come from U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock, whose e-mail to a constituent with a question about the eligibility issue was forwarded to WND. He said, "The Constitution is the starting point for determining eligibility to serve as president. The Constitution requires that to be eligible to serve as president an individual must be a natural born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years old, and have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least 14...

Election year is just 6 months away and Sarah Palin is working the crowd…sort of. Her latest bus tour has a lot of people wondering what she’s up to. In an effort to not have the media follow her around; Palin has opted to not disclose where she’s going next until she’s there. It’s an interesting, albeit confusing, tactic and has a lot of people wondering what she’s planning. Some are speculating that Palin is setting the stage for a Presidential or Vice Presidential bid in the 2012 elections. Others are just plain confused at why her bus tour is...

Sometime ago I read about a billboard in Grand Junction, Colorado with Jimmy Carter’s picture on it and a thought bubble containing the following words, “They can’t call me the worst President anymore!†Recent events in the Middle East and the reaction of the Obama Administration has brought to memory that horrible nightmare of 1978-79 when the Carter administration did nothing to help or support the government of our ally and friend, the Shah of Iran. The man from Plains Georgia watched from his White House television the unfolding street demonstrations in Tehran without any move to help resolve the...

David A. Keene WASHINGTON – The non-profit organization responsible for the largest annual conservative gathering in the U.S. is under investigation for embezzlement of hundreds of thousands of dollars in donor money over several years, WND has learned. The American Conservative Union, headed by David Keene and best known for its organization of the Conservative Political Action Conference each year in the nation's capital, has been embroiled in controversies in recent years, but this one is shaking the foundations of the Washington institution. The American Conservative Union reported to the Internal Revenue Service last month a "material diversion of...

Promises of Electric Vehicles? Vlado BevcSynergy Research Institute, P.O.Box 561, San Ramon, California 94583 The promotion of General Motors Chevy Volt by three mayors (Contra Costa Times, November 6, 1010) merits some mundane evaluation from the energy standpoint. Electric vehicles –with an internal combustion engine assist – are compared to a “typical car” using 13 cents of $3.00/gallon gasoline per mile, that is one that makes 23 miles per gallon. (13/300 = 0.0433 gallon/mile) In a conventional car 25 percent of 37 kWh from a gallon of gasoline gets into traction (because of losses in the engine and drive train)....

Although the U.S. Defense Department and North American Aerospace Defense Command have speculated publicly that the unidentified contrail of a projectile soaring into the skies off the California coast – and recorded by a KCBS television crew – came from a jet and posed no security threat to the U.S., several experts are raising provocative and disturbing questions about the government's official response, reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin. Two governmental military experts with extensive experience working with missiles and computer security systems have examined the television video and conclude the mysterious contrail originating some 30 miles off the coast near...

When "Smart Growth" and "Sustainable Development" washed across the nation in the 1990s, property-rights activists were overwhelmed. Visioning councils sprang up everywhere, and towns, cities, counties and regions soon had "Vision 2020 Action Plans" that transformed normal communities into "Sustainable Communities," and, for the most part, land owners never knew what hit them. A common element in this transformation is the creation of what is usually called a "Comprehensive Land Use Plan." This plan, when approved by the governing authority, becomes the basis for bureaucrats to virtually control the use of private property. The definition of property ownership includes the...

WASHINGTON – Billed as a way for the government to put more fuel-efficient vehicles on highways, the popular $3 billion Cash for Clunkers program mostly involved swaps of old Ford or Chevrolet pickups for new ones that got only marginally better gas mileage, according to an analysis of new federal data by The Associated Press. The single most common swap — which occurred more than 8,200 times — involved Ford F150 pickup owners who took advantage of a government rebate to trade their old trucks for new Ford F150s

Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby. Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues. This is the untold story-how Obama and the Vatican accept major ingredients of what has been called a New World Order. Another untold story is how, despite a disagreement over abortion, the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the...

I don’t sing in my videos (much to the relief of every living creature). I don’t dance either (there is a limit to self-deprecation). But Tim Hawkins does sing and dance, and he uses those skills to great effect in this video. Enjoy.

How Do You Rate Obama's Second 100 Days? We have come upon the second 100-day mark of the Obama Administration. In one of the most challenging economic periods in our nation's history -- we've seen some thoughtful policies -- and some that are facing criticism. As our economic recovery continues, and we face policy shifts on health care and energy -- how would you rate President Obama's first 200 days?
