I had a friend who was an Environmental Scientist. At one time his job was to write the protocols for waste disposal for each step in the process of manufacturing a particular pharmaceutical. Every step had to have a separate insurance policy. Turned out the total insurance cost of manufacture was too expensive to compete with the big three ED meds. Government regulations let him make a really good living on a product that would never get to market.
I’ve said for almost fifty years we need an all gay combat battalion for three really good reasons. 1) We wouldn’t lose a whole generation. 2) You always fight harder for the one you love and if they’re in the fox hole together.... 3) The opposing force has no good outcome; either they beat a bunch of pansies or they lose to a bunch of pansies or they get captured so they might as well just go home.
More than likely it wasn’t George. Hitting a target at 100 yards with the average AK takes a bit of luck. Maybe Ol’ George is quite the marksman, maybe not.
“They’re Lying” by Liz Collins is an excellent book on what really happened around the death of Floyd. I can only read a few pages at a time because it drives my blood pressure sky high.
Here’s my favorite; Communion Sunday at the Methodist church and there is an older couple sitting on the front row. As the congregants file across in front of them to receive the sacraments they notice a young lady in a very short skirt but she looks familiar. As the young lady kneels at the altar rail the wife leans over to the husband and asks “Is that Tutti Greene?” The husband quietly replies “No, it’s just the way the light is shining on it.”
