The Republican-Conservative relationship is at its strongest point in years. At least it is on this side of the Atlantic, anyway. If you American conservatives are reduced to frankly insulting generalisations and assumptions over a few softened criticisms from someone who clearly states his dedication to the Special Relationship (in the same speech, no less), then I think it may be your end that has the problems.

This is nonsense. Although Blair's end is (at last) in sight, it is David Cameron's Conservatives who are picking up his Tony's support. And with arch-Thatcherites and devout Atlanticists William Hague and Liam Fox placed to take over respectively as foreign and defence secretaries, British support for the War on Terror is going to be even stronger.

Looking at the amount the abuse people like Claire Fox and Nick Cohen receive from their 'comrades', I think any hope of the British left becoming any less useless far too optimistic.
