I just called my congressman to ask why they need to be there. They passed two bills that have been sent to the Senate. CCB was tabled. Senate has passed nothing. Can't the House vote to Recess on the basis that without a spending bill, on which the entire government runs, there is no need to conduct further business? They can make reconvening contingent upon the passing of a bill in the Senate. Can't this be done? Flex some muscle, Congress!!!!! Don't let yourselves be made irrelevant. FR comments or opinions on this idea?

The best news I heard today is that two house members have stated that they plan to carry a concealed weapon at public events. That is their right as citizens and if all our representatives would follow suit, not only would they be safer, everyone around them would be safer! Would FReepers be willing to actively encourage your representatives to follow the lead of these two? Call them and request them to carry arms for their protection and because it is their right.
