You would not believe the damage here, whole central city destroyed (2nd time in 5 months) 75 dead, 3-400 missing, most without power and water (very blessed here)

The reason why Barry 0 ain’t ruling the Muslim Brotherhood out?

Because the Anglo-American power elite that run the show WANT the creation of another hostile Islamic state, with the ultimate goal being the collapse of Saudi Arabia. Anyone who thinks that Obama truly runs the USA needs a reality check; he is a pawn of the Power Elite of bankers etc- when Obama speaks if you look closely enough you can see the strings moving from the ceiling. He works well as the establishment’s man because we all know he isn’t fundamentally opposed to what’s going on in the Middle East right now.

The ultimate aim is very simple-

* End US Dollar reserve system so that commodities (especially oil) go through the roof. Blame it all on the “fight against global warming” so that people will accept a lower standard of living. Wipe out the middle class with the end of cheap food.
* Create a boogeyman via the inception of fundamentalist Islamic states in the Middle East. The West has always gotta have an enemy, right?
* Use this enemy to restrict freedoms back home.
* WW3 against our newfound enemy.
* New World Order with a one-world system of government and currency at the end of it all. Massively reduced population to rule over more easily (achieved through engineered famine and disease, as well as war)
* Goodbye sweet freedom.

It really is hugely important that we all push home to friends and family the fact that there is an establishment out there that is “playing” the world for its benefit. Shakespeare once said “All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players” - he was very prescient.

Many will disagree and call you a “nutjob” or “Lunatic” or anything along those lines when you try to tell them the truth. Its very reminiscent of the Matrix, where Morpheus shows Neo the false, controlled world for the first time and says “most of these people are not yet ready to be freed- they will fight to protect what they think is their reality”

The fact of the matter is that the USA can ill-afford such a costly bill, but the concept of “something for nothing” socialized healthcare appeals to a vast swathe of the population who are incapable of seeing past the smoke and mirrors attraction of public healthcare, and who are taken in by bleeding-heart lefty nonsense.

My country has a paltry population of 4 million, yet our public health service is broke- the only thing that keeps it ticking over is the ACC system which prevents costs from skyrocketing (you can’t sue in NZ if a surgeon were to injure you for example; ACC levies from car road tax, petrol tax, and employer contributions are used to pay your working wage while you recover)

Still even here the smart people fork out that bit extra for private healthcare.

Here’s what America has to look forward to if Obamacare isn’t done in:

* A degradation of service and quality of healthcare.
* Increased taxes.
* Insurance costs will increase as insurers must cover themselves from possible litigation.
* The number of doctors and surgeons will massively decrease. My father works in the orthopaedic surgery industry and said that Obama has stated that “no surgeon should earn more than $100k USD” - well they could easily earn that working in Europe, NZ, Australia, Britain, Japan etc. IT NEEDS TO BE HAMMERED HOME TO THE SUPPORTERS OF THIS BILL THAT SURGEONS AND DOCTORS WILL GO WHERE THE MONEY IS. $100k a year is barely enough for a private practice to cover its insurance bill.

Being upside down all the time is a great feeling ya know. Gives you a whole new perspective on the world.

Its about both really. You simply asked why I had given up on England and I showed you that I hadn’t.

Even I get confused sorry, I’m a citizen of both countries, been influenced by both (as you can probably tell)

I am better able to talk about current NZ politics, world views etc however, as I have lived there for 18 years.

On my recent trip to the UK I managed to convince some of my family members to see the light; I’ve donated to and supported many pro-British parties and institutions in the past, I’ve done many of the practicable steps when I live miles away.

However, I can’t just show up to a protest march in London can I?

I’ve been told by many that my gift is with words, so that’s what I am using to make my mark, so at least I can die with a clean conscience.

I feel that this Churchill quote once again has relevance today- “There is no room for the dilettante, the weakling, for the shirker, or the sluggard. The mine, the factory, the dockyard, the salt sea waves, the field to till, the home, the hospital, the chair of the scientist, the pulpit of the preacher — from the highest to the humblest tasks, all are of equal honor; all have their part to play.”

I long for the brilliance England once had, and for the fact that it has spawned so many great accomplishments in the world; I am vehemently proud of my nation of descent, but I cannot escape the truth that the “sceptered isle” has gone to the dogs.

There are true British Patriots- the British National Party (which broke away from the skinhead national front) and even the somewhat violent English Defence League still do their best to stir up the feelings of pride that were felt say when the Falkland Islands were reclaimed, or the Battle of Britain was won. I still fall into this category, whilst being proud of NZ too (for such a small country we have achieved a lot. We invented the jet boat, built one of the fastest motorbikes in the world in a garden shed, were the first to give women the vote, and the Maori battalion were supposedly the only soldiers Rommel feared during WW2)

I don’t want to see the same fate befall the USA as has befallen England. I am still proud, I am still hopeful, but I have to face the facts.

The question I asked in the title is extremely pertinent to me as in NZ, Labour party (closes thing to the democrats) supporters tend to be very open to debate. In fact political debate is something that is done rather well here.

Because I do not live in the US I cannot say from experience how the left wing element in your country behaves. I can only go on what I see in the news etc.

If there is anything any of you would like to know about how nations outside of the US view the state of US affairs, please fire away. I shall do my best to answer all questions.

And to however said that I lost them when examining the decline of the USA as the world’s ONLY preeminent super power, please explain how I lost you.

I am English by descent, so I know all about great nations and their inevitable declines after all.

Does anyone else feel that the current run-up in commodity prices is a bit similar to the 2008 bubble, and that it could all come crashing down again?

Much to the profit of Goldman Sachs and the like of course.

If gas was about $5 a gallon in the US I’m guessing it would be up around the $2.50-$2.75 a litre mark in NZ (it’s already at $2 a litre now)

I have two sources of income- one of them allows me to earn good money from home, and I only have to walk 5 minutes down the road to another part time job, which I basically work for petrol and food money.

Therefore as I don’t have to commute to earn money I wouldn’t be too badly affected. However, you do have to feel sorry (well perhaps not so much sorry as a kind of ‘haha told you so’ feeling) for all those people who moved out of convenient houses in town and into huge artificially created suburbs about 30-40 minutes drive away, just to have a massive house that still doesn’t have a big garden for growing food etc.

At that price I’d get back on the 250cc motorbike for all traveling that I need to do by myself- fewer nutters on the road in their done up Jap racer cars means less chance of being squashed.

When petrol prices were at their record 2.5 years ago most families sold their bigger v6 and v8 sedans and trucks, as well as turbo sports sedans and unnecessary cars, and bought crummy little eco boxes. The price of these bigger cars plummeted and you could get them for nicks- it was worked out that the average family would actually save money by buying a v8 and driving it carefully.

Does anyone else think the current price rises are a bubble, and that it could all come crashing down again?

Very correct about the Chinese not wanting to lose face- this is an absolute key component of their society and culture.

Why do you think they continue to build vast cities that will never be inhabited? It’s simple; in doing so they can help artificially stimulate the economy so others do not lose faith in the Chinese “miracle” so they themselves do not lose face. I cannot stress how important this is to the Chinese.

My old band once provided the entertainments at a wedding of a lovely young Chinese couple; the groom being a relative of one of the players in the band. We offered to play in exchange for a bit of free food and drink at the buffet, but as the evening wound to a close the father of the groom came over to us and handed all 5 of us a sealed envelope each with a pretty substantial amount of cash (well for an 18 year old student anyway)

Myself and the Asian kid in the band knew that it is custom to take the money with both hands and then actually inspect the amount given (this is not considered rude- rather a compliment as you are preventing them from losing face) and he did not leave until the other 3 band members had done the same.

Our two cultures are very different.

You guys think you have it bad at $3.50 a gallon? Try 7 pounds a gallon in the UK (there’s always someone worse of than you!)

But seriously, does anyone else see this current ramp up in oil prices as being very similar to the goings on in 2008? Oil and other commodities soaring up as speculators moved in to make a quick buck on the back of the slightest piece of bad news- only to come crashing down as likely planned by the big speculating firms.

Of course this problem is being exacerbated by the destruction of the US dollar, and the fact that the “green movement” is being used as a blanket excuse for restricting drilling of oil and making the most use possible of natural hydrocarbon reserves (after all, you have to be able to explain nicely to the common people why they can’t afford to drive anymore- the war on climate change provides a perfect excuse for this that most suckers will buy into)

I don’t even come from the United States, but the way that the left has handled this situation simply disgusts me.

Innocent men, women, and children have been hurt and killed by a clearly deranged and unstable person- never mind his political allegiance- the real questions need to be asked as to how he was able to slip through the net of the authorities.

How typical is it of the left, however, to “never let a good crisis go to waste” and ride high on the wave of emotion and sadness felt not just in the US, but around the world.
