You’re welcome. After I posted the thread I thought I might have been too early as I didn’t realize this was done at night in the Central Time Zone and I am in the Atlantic Time Zone!
Further down the story it says that Frontier does not provide unaccompanied minor service, that over 15s fly as regular passengers. So the “kid” was on his own past TSA. And both he and Frontier screwed it up.

Yep. In Tokyo, kindergartners take the trains to school alone, following an app that tells them when and where to get off or switch trains. The worse that happens is that they fall asleep and adult strangers have to shake them awake.
Pffft! 16 year old? I was only a year older than that when the Army sent me to Basic Training at Fort Dix, I finally get there on a Friday, they told me they didn't have beds at the reception station until Monday, gave me a bus ticket to the Ports Authority Terminal in NYC and told me to find a bed at the USO for the weekend. And nobody batted an eye.
