Basically, yes... magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds, that were manufactured AFTER 1994 are legal now.

I put that in bold because you could buy such magazines before the AWB expired; they just had to be manufactured before 1994.

Well, my first reaction to this post was "huh?"

I think he's pandering to the Democrats. Either that, or he's clueless about the so-called "assault weapons" ban.

I think the former is more likely.

Well, they do have that here in the U.S., except it's only for criminals, so far.

I worked at the Hanford nuclear site for almost 2 years. They spent a helluva a lot of money to update one of the buildings, and never finished. What a waste.

This is just a short article, but I thought it was interesting, and important. LANL has had some security problems over the last few years, and there's enough top-secret research (as well as nasty weapons-grade stuff) there that better protection for the special response team is a must.

Even the Democrats think LIEberman sucks (not that their opinion matters, but my point is that everyone except the man himself hates him).

I'm a scientist, and I know about getting funding :-)

I'm not saying whether or not this guy is right or wrong, but maybe he's trying to get funding by phrasing his research in a way that the Bush administration will understand it?

I've never driven that route, but my perspective on mountain driving comes from my experiences in Colorado.

I literally almost get motion sickness, no matter where I used to drive in CO. I remember driving to Estes Park at night, alone, and I didn't think I was going to make it!

Now, driving on I-90 through Montana on a clear, cold winter night is fantastic :-)

Actually, I haven't read "Trace" yet. I didn't really get into "Blowfly", but "Trace" does sound better.

I'm not surprised she's a friend of Laura Bush. Mrs. Bush is a classy lady, and so is Patricia Cornwell. I can imagine they get along quite well.

I actually really like mystery/adventure books. Being female (well, armed and female ;-) ) I love Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta mysteries. Dr. Scarpetta is one badass gun totin' very smart female character. And I think Ms. Cornwell is Republican... I'm almost positive she is.
