Update 2: Democrats have decided to leap to the defense of their own by attacking the messenger of the video, in this case Breitbart. Politico is reporting that the Democrats have released “key talking points” in an effort to discredit the video and somehow shed an acceptable light on the thuggishness of one their own Congressmen. The Talking Points include points such as: “There are points that you can’t see in the video… ” “What was the motivation?..” “This is clearly the work of the Republican Party and the ‘interviewer’ is clearly a low level staffer or intern. That’s what...

Here is audio of “The Great One” – Mark Levin – hammering Democrat Rep. Bob Etheridge for what he called his “assault” on a college student who tried to interview Etheridge. Levin said “this guy should be expelled from Congress.” Levin called Etheridge a “punk” and a “jerk.” Levin said there are people in prison today who have done less than what Etheridge did here.

He took questions from the press and apologized several times throughout the presser. VIDEO: Dem Congressman Etheridge Assaults Student On Street

Here is the biased headline of the day. North Carolina local TV station WNCN-17 in Raleigh posted an article about Democrat Rep. Bob Etheridge’s attack on two college students attempting to interview him on whether he fully supports Obama’s agenda. Even though it was Etheridge who was aggressive toward the students, hitting their camera and grabbing one of the interviewers by the wrist and by the neck, the headline says it is Etheridge who is being “attacked!” I guess it is clear where their sympathies lie.

If you approach a congressman in Washington D.C. and try to ask them what seems to be a pretty simple question and he goes nuts, grabbing at you and demanding to know who you are … don’t answer him. Why not answer? This guy is showing aggressive behavior and has enough power -- since we gave it to them -- to make your life miserable for years to come. I don’t blame the guy for not answering. Without further comment, I give you Rep. Bob “Who are You” Etheridge (D-N.C.).

Media in Democrat Bob Etheridge’s North Carolina 2nd Congressional District are now onto the story of his attack on college students who attempted to ask him if he supported President Obama’s “full agenda.” Etheridge went berserk, hitting their camera and grabbing the arm of one student and refusing to let go as he asked repeatedly, “Who are you?” Raleigh station WTVD has asked Etheridge’s office for a response, but has so far received nothing. But they report on a response from the North Carolina GOP: WTVD – Raleigh: ABC11 has left messages with Etheridge’s office to get his side of...

How do these people make it to Washington? Or perhaps they are beginning to feel the consequential heat of their decisions? Democrat Congressman from North Carolina, Bob Etheridge, is walking past a student asking him a legitimate question, “Do you fully support the Obama agenda?” The Congressman, very aggressively grabs the young man and demands, “Who are you? Who are you?” The student repeatedly asks to be released and the Congressman continues to tussle with him, refusing to let go. And it’s done in such a way that one must wonder if he’s at full mental capacity. It is doubtful...

Here is shocking video of North Carolina Democrat Rep. Bob Etheridge being asked by some students on a public sidewalk in Washington, D.C. if he supports the “Obama Agenda.” Once he realized the students were asking him that question, he went bonkers. Etheridge hit their camera and then grabbed one of the students by the arm as he repeated over and over “Who are you, Who are you? Tell me who you are?” The students identified themselves as such, but Etheridge persisted. At one point he then grabbed the student whose arm he had been holding onto and pulled himself...

Renee Ellmers of Dunn, a nurse at the Trinity Wound Center has recently announced her candidacy for the Second Congressional District in North Carolina. This is the seat currently held by Congressman Bob Etheridge. Ellmers is the second Republican candidate to enter the race. Dan Mansell has already entered the race and has unsuccessfully run against Etheridge in the last two election cycles. The Sanford Herald alleges that the Republican committee for the Second District is unofficially endorsing Ellmers candidacy over that of Mansell because of his unsuccessful bids against Etheridge already. That’s an understandable strategy, however in Mansell’s defense,...

Congressman Bob Etheridge said Friday that he would not challenge Republican Sen. Richard Burr next year, despite a concerted effort by the national Democratic Party to coax him into the race. The decision is another setback for the Democrats, who earlier this year failed to entice Attorney General Roy Cooper into the race, Rob Christensen reports. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has turned its attention to former state Sen. Cal Cunningham, an Iraq War veteran from Lexington, who had spent several months exploring a Senate bid, before announcing Monday that he would not be a candidate. Etheridge, a veteran Congressman,...

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr's approval rating remains below 40 percent, which might ordinarily be bad news for a politician, but he's still ahead of any of his potential Democratic challengers in next year's election, according to a poll released Friday. The approval rating for Burr, a Republican, was 38 percent, according to the survey by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm. In matchups against possible Democratic opponents, Burr beat: U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge, of Lillington, by 41 to 34 percent. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, who officially launched her candidacy this week, and former Lt. Gov. Dennis Wicker, by the...

If the zingers Democrat Cal Cunnigham was directing at freshman Sen. Richard M. Burr last week are any indication, the former state senator is getting ready to take on the Republican incumbent in 2010. In a videotaped speech to a Democratic gathering in Charlotte now making the Internet rounds, Cunningham hit Burr early and often. "In 15 years on Capitol Hill you can't name one thing that Richard Burr has done to make your life better, and I can't either," he declared, referencing Burr's time as a senator and a congressman. Cunningham, an Iraq War vet, noted, "During the same...

It was Republican Sen. Richard Burr versus the Democratic congressman Tuesday night as they fielded questions on North Carolina television in a lively discussion about national health care. Burr, though agreeing that the current health-care system is "unsustainable," said the proposals by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats would cost too much, raise too many taxes and impose too many regulations. "I don't want the government handling any more," Burr said in agreeing with one caller who said the federal government had mismanaged too many programs in the past. But Burr of Winston-Salem was a lonely voice on the one-hour...

Democratic U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge said Wednesday he is giving some thought to running against Republican Sen. Richard Burr next year. Etheridge, a Lillington Democrat, said he has been courted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as a potential candidate. "I'm evaluating it," Etheridge said during a meeting Wednesday with reporters and editors at The News & Observer. Etheridge said he met recently with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and had discussions with family members and a few key supporters. Etheridge said he hoped to make a decision by September. The backing of the DSCC is important because Senate races...

Raleigh — U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington), the only North Carolina member on the House Ways and Means Committee, has accepted an invitation from the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) to speak on health care reform on August 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Central Carolina Community College in Lillington, North Carolina. The forum is designed to engage public opinion on expanding affordable quality health care for all North Carolinians. The Congressman accepted the invitation because health care reform is one of the top issues being discussed in North Carolina. The Lillington event follows up on public forums...

PPP looked at seven potential challengers to Richard Burr last week and found the incumbent leading them all by varying degrees: -He has an 11 point advantage over Elizabeth Edwards (46-35) and Dan Blue (44-33) -He has a 13 point lead over Richard Moore (47-34) -He has a 16 point edge on Bob Etheridge (47-31) and Heath Shuler (44-28) -He has a 19 point margin over Walter Dalton (48-29) We also tested Cal Cunningham, providing a two sentence biography of him as part of the question to compensate for his low name recognition, and found him trailing by just eight...

U.S. troops in Iraq: What Democrats say "I was against (going to war). One of the reasons was because there was no exit strategy articulated. And still there has been no exit strategy articulated." Rep. Mel Watt, D-N.C., of Charlotte, who chairs the Congressional Black Caucus "I'm not for an explicit timetable, but I favor in principle the idea of bringing the troops home . . . But I do think we first need to get the Iraqi government on its feet." Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., of York, a top member of the House Armed Services Committee whose district includes...
