  • Why Can’t America have High-Speed Bullet Trains?

Well, California Governor Gavin Newsom has abandoned plans to build a high-speed railroad between Los Angeles and San Francisco. After spending billions of dollars in funds, much of it from the Federal government, the Governor said that the project should be shelved. He cited that the project was too expensive. The face of American politics today. This is the slick and well-packaged oligarchy pick for California. Mr. California Governor Gavin Newsom. Look how plastic he appears. Why, he could be right out of one of those political villains from a 1980’s John Cusack movie. California Is Abandoning A Plan To...

(Video at source)CNN host S.E. Cupp said she doesn’t believe President Donald Trump wants the job anymore, and the only thing keeping him in office is the fear of getting voted out.“Trump doesn’t want to be president anymore. I’m not sure he ever wanted it,” Cupp said in her opening monologue on Unfiltered Saturday. “The job of being president, that wasn’t ever what he was after and now that the Democrats in the House have some power and are using it, he really doesn’t want the job,” she continued on. Cupp speculated Trump actually wants to be impeached by congressional...

“Behold, the New Jerusalem!” (Revelation 21:9-14, 21-27) This Memorial Day weekend is kind of the unofficial start of the summer vacation season. If you’re like me, I always looked forward to summer vacation. Maybe go up north, get away from the heat and the stress, relax by a lake, enjoy life. And it’s nice to know some things about your vacation destination--where you’re going, the place. This gives you something to look forward to: the beauty, the scenery, the pleasant temperatures, enjoyable activities, time to relax and unwind with people you know and love. And even though you’re not there...

America is now at the Samizdat stage. For those not hip, Samizdat refers to the underground press in the old Soviet Union. The government had almost total control over public discourse; today, it’s private corporations. Which is worse because it has the sheen of “free market” and “private property” – which provides the basis for doltish intellectuals to defend it. Only government can censor, they exclaim! Very true. But when private companies can suppress speech generally – it amounts to the same thing.

Some might find this practice sort of macabre, but when I'm watching an older movie at home, I sometimes have my laptop open to that movie's IMDB page and then I click on each member of the cast to see if they are still alive or not. Every now and then I come across a movie in which most of the cast is dead but it's rare in that I watch a movie in which all the cast are dead. I think that's more a function of not watching a lot of really old movies. But time is catching up...

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker took to the airwaves ahead of scheduled parliamentary elections to lay into "stupid nationalists" who object to the European Union's open borders policies and centralization of power. "These populist, nationalists, stupid nationalists, they are in love with their own countries when they should be showing a greater appreciation of what we're doing for them," he said. "This is a revolting repeat of the same attitudes that resisted the unification of Europe achieved by the Germans in the early 1940s. Why must every little pipsqueak country insist on going its own way? It's not as if...

Actor Jon Voight is one of the few strong conservative voices left in Hollywood. On Friday, the actor posted a video on Twitter where he compared President Trump to one of the greatest presidents in history, Abraham Lincoln. "I know that you'll agree with me when I say that our president has our utmost respect and our love," Voight started in his first video posted to Twitter. "This job is not easy for he's battling the left and their absurd words of destruction. ... "

Al Gore's Masculinity Adviser Naomi Wolf wrote a book about "forbidden love" or whatever. A central claim of her book is that people were executed in England for sodomy as late as the 1830s. She bases this on seeing the words "death recorded" on a number of sodomy cases. It turns out "death recorded" doesn't mean that the prisoner was executed, but that the possibility of a death sentence was noted, and then the judge pardoned them. This is the central claim of her book and she didn't bother to look up the meaning of the phrase. She just... guestimated....

It’s no wonder that voodoo is no longer being used as a smokescreen. In 2017, when the tax reform package was being hashed out, the Democrats were disparaging the legislation, calling it, “tax cuts for the rich” or “trickled down economics” and of course, “voodoo economics.” Those talking points have vanished faster than the media hype over Beto O'Rockstar and his skateboard. Perhaps these characterizations are no longer in most Democrat’s lexicons because it would remind voters just how wrong they were. With the economy booming, the last thing the left wants is for Republicans to point out that...

As President Trump ordered the intelligence community and others to fully cooperate with DOJ Attorney General William Barr in his investigation into the FBI’s probe of the 2016 presidential election, a key piece of evidence may reside in the early unmasking of Americans private communications, according to Sara Carter. Carter pointed this out in her appearance Thursday night on Hannity, with guest host Dan Bongino. Carter noted former UN Ambassador Samantha Power who unmasked nearly 300 people. These names will surprise Americans if they were to be made public, according to Carter. Earlier, Carter reported on this news site...

President Trump’s decision to give Attorney General William Barr a free hand in determining which documents related to the intelligence community’s covert operation to take down the Trump Administration can be opened to public inspection has led to major consternation among Democratic Party luminaries. Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif) called the move to inform the general public “a cover-up and un-American. Secrecy is essential if our guardians are to keep us safe from the type of threat the election of Trump posed for our country. Granted, mistakes may have been made, but they were all...

A video of uncertain age (recently uploaded to Instagram by @504ollie) shows an unidentified man on a boat holding a gator by the neck, using its open mouth to puncture a can of Michelob Ultra. The man then slams the beer and tosses the gator back in the water, while a “Hell yeah” can be heard in the background. The @504ollie account changed its settings to private, but the video has been re-uploaded to multiple accounts, including Drunk People Doing Things, where it has garnered over 3 million views. [snip] Coincidentally, this is also the second video showing an unidentified...

Please pray for my son, who is working in the oilfields in North Dakota. He has been experiencing excruciating pain in his feet. The pain doctor calls it neuropathy, but there isn't much they have been able to do for it. He is blessed with a job where he can sit frequently, but it does require his walking around now and then. They have tried surgery, powerful painkillers, and even CBD. He is strong and optimistic, but it's breaking my heart. PRAY!

Looks like President Trump is off to a good start in Tokyo, meeting with business leaders.  Looking forward to Sunday when Trump will attend the 3rd of 6 Sumo tournaments held each year.  He's scheduled to present a trophy to the winner!  I noticed that the ambassador to Japan, William F. Hagerty of Tennessee (replacing Caroline Kennedy) sounds like an excellent choice for the job.  A couple pictures of him are on Twitter feed. What about Hagerty was appealing to Trump?  Probably that he gets results.  Here are a couple of noteworthy achievements (from Wikipedia): Prior to his confirmation as...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Media blackout on anything positive continues. – On his way to Japan Friday, President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words) stopped in Alaska to visit with U.S. troops there, an appropriate gesture given that honoring America’s military and its veterans is the entire purpose of the Memorial Day holiday. The troops cheered and, unlike their reaction whenever Barack Hussein Obama his own self would make such a visit, were obviously excited and thrilled to be in the presence of the President. Naturally, I had to go...

“The climate crisis is real y’all. “Guess we’re at casual tornadoes in growing regions of the country?” Like garbage disposers I guess AOC has never seen a tornado either. Not even on YouTube because there is nothing and I mean nothing “casual” by any definition of that word about tornadoes. Perhaps she meant “causal” tornadoes, as in “there’s a causal relationship between climate change and an increase in tornadoes.” Although the PBS report she’s reading from while livestreaming her horrifying tornado warning experience for her Instagram followers seems to indicate the contrary: “Tornadoes are challenging to link to climate...
