LINCOLN, Neb. — Self-identified liberal voters are less forgiving to Democratic politicians who cross party lines on certain issues than conservative voters are to Republican lawmakers doing the same thing, a recent study shows. Researchers at the University of Nebraska used MRI technology to examine the brains of 58 people when they face incongruent positions by politicians. The researchers wanted to see which parts of the brain lit up when people evaluated fictional politicians’ stances on key conservative and liberal issues.

I'm reading a book about Florida called "For Sale —American Paradise: How Our Nation Was Sold an Impossible Dream in Florida" by Willie Drye. A lengthy title but a very good book, I am learning so much about how Florida went from a swampy backwater full of alligators where nobody wanted to live to our third most populous state (and perhaps someday to be our most populous state) and certainly the most air-conditioned state in the union. Willie Drye's book is very well researched and is full of very interesting stories about the early days of the Florida boom and...

It's a surreal thing to tune into a committee mark-up and see Democrats singing "Happy birthday to you." Before February, nothing about that would have seemed mildly ironic. But in a House majority that thinks birth days aren't always worth celebrating, Rep. Nita Lowey's (D-N.Y.) song suddenly feels a little off. Especially when that same chairwoman goes on to spend the next three hours arguing that Americans should make sure babies overseas never get born. If Democrats get their way, there will be no "Happy birthday" song for who knows how many children. In the majority's debate over State Foreign...

House Democrats are backing away from plans to hold a blockbuster hearing this month with Robert Mueller after talks stalled out with the special counsel and his representatives. Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and a senior Democratic committee aide told POLITICO on Friday that there’s no Mueller hearing planned for next week, though that could also change at a moment’s notice if the special counsel said he’s ready to testify. “I would assume not,” Nadler replied when asked whether Mueller would be appearing before the upcoming Memorial Day recess, which starts next Friday. A Judiciary staffer later added, “Mueller could...

"FOX News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace reacts to Attorney General Bill Barr's interview with FNC's Bill Hemmer. (snip) CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS: As somebody who does interviews for a living, when you watch somebody else do interviews you always say, "Well gee, I would have asked or what about?" .... And what really comes across to me most of all is that for two years Donald Trump sat there and said, "I don't have an attorney general. I don't have somebody out there looking for an (sic) protecting my interests." He clearly has that now with Bill Barr. Not saying...

Pennsylvania's unemployment level has plummeted to its lowest point in 43 years. Here's what that could mean for 2020. Pennsylvania's unemployment rate is at a near record low, dropping to just 3.8 percent, the lowest its been since 1976, according to statistics published by the state on Friday. That hovers just over the national rate of 3.6 percent. That number is down a half a percentage point from April 2018, when the unemployment rate sat at 4.3 percent. The total number of Pennsylvanians who are employed — 6,222,000 — is an all-time record, the state says. With Pennsylvania once again...

Hemmer: Republicans have said for months that Brennan, Clapper, maybe Comey have had it in for Trump. Do you believe that’s the case?

Barr: “Again, I’m not gonna speculate about their motives.”

Treason is not a word that anyone should use lightly, but based on recent revelations regarding the “Spygate” operation aimed at undermining Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and his presidency, it is a term that seems very fitting to describe acts and actions taken by several Obama-era officials, including the former president himself. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines treason as, “the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign’s family.” Also, “the betrayal of a trust; treachery.” More importantly, “18...

President Trump said it is "absolutely fine" for Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg to stand on the campaign stage with his husband. "I think that’s something that perhaps some people will have a problem with. I have no problem with it whatsoever. I think it’s good," the president told FNC's Steve Hilton. The full interview will air Sunday on FNC's 'The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton.' Steve Hilton: “We’ve got the town hall with Pete Buttigieg –“ President Donald Trump: “Boot, edge, edge”

Bernie Sanders continues with Obama’s Fundamental Transformation of America The biggest mainstream/social media-ignored story of our day: The Socialists and Islamists have OFFICIALLY ganged up against America in the prelude to the 2020 presidential election. The not so long ago suspected nightmare of Socialists and Islamists working in tandem against the American people is now a reality unfolding before our very eyes that can no longer be written off as just another conspiracy theory.

If Biden wins the Democrat nomination for 2020 president, it will be Obama’s handpicked agent sent out to continue with the destructive Fundamental Transformation of America. Ex-President Barack Obama doesn’t want the electorate to know that he backs his once two-time vice president Joe Biden for the 2020 presidency, even though he does. In Obama’s technicolor dreams, Biden is Hillary Clinton Resurrected. In 2016, Hillary Clinton was Obama’s technicolor dream of a nauseating Third Term In Office. Both the mainstream and social media, who echoed Donald Trump would “NEVER” be president, forecast Clinton as the clear winner, polls predicted her...

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Here are the highlights from AG William Barr’s interview with Bill Hemmer on Fox News Friday morning. This is a big deal.: “This [The FBI spying on the Trump Campaign] was handled at the very senior levels of these agencies. It wasn’t handled in the ordinary way.” “We have a number of investigations underway.”

For decades the U.S Ninth Circuit Court, which embodies Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Guam, and Hawaii, has been populated with Left-wing judicial activists who rule not in accordance with existing law or the Constitution but in alliance with their liberal principles. In the process, the Ninth Circuit has become one of the most overturned of all federal judiciaries by the U.S. Supreme Court. But thanks to POTUS Donald Trump and his dedication to appointing constitutionalists to the federal judiciary, things are about to change for the Ninth Circuit, much to the chagrin of the Marxist Democrats...

The public relies on journalists to learn about and share academic research. Public knowledge can be undermined, however, when academics try to influence what research journalists cover or limit the “acceptable debate” about an issue. This influence can be achieved through “citation cartels,” where sympathetic researchers cite and reference one another and ignore or dismiss the high-quality research of others that reach different conclusions. Citation cartels belittle research they disagree with, rather than refute it. Citation cartels can advance researchers’ careers substantially: Cartel members receive more media exposure and get more academic citations. Universities consider citation numbers as evidence of...

Two men in fencing masks circle warily in the center of a gym. Each holds a three-foot long rattan stick in one hand. A sudden rush and both are engaged in a swirl of weapons. The air rings to the sound and smell of rattan sticks striking each other and the duller whomp of sticks striking legs, arms and bodies. This melee is engaged at full speed and full power. Punches aren't pulled. When the grueling two-minute bout is over, both combatants display an array of bumps, bruises and welts. The fighters embrace and depart the battlefield as friends. Neither...

And then there’s this little gem: (emphasis mine) A "transgender man" entered a hospital with severe abdominal pains. Because she was identified as a man, the doctors naturally did not think to treat her for labor and delivery, so she tragically lost the baby. Rather than emphasizing the danger of placing gender identity over biological sex, both the journal and The Washington Post made the absurd claim that the hospital should not have ruled out pregnancy for a man. Of course they shouldn’t have ruled out pregnancy for a man – because that would just be crazy! "He was rightly...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Someone needs to tell her the definition of the word “punish”. – Emily Ratajkowski, who is I guess a model, posted nude photos of herself on social media yesterday. Which apparently is not an uncommon thing for this particular individual. But this time, she says she has a reason. That reason is…wait for it…oh, you gotta wait for this one…TO PUNISH OLD WHITE MEN in Alabama who passed the anti-abortion bill that was signed into law this week. I swear I do not make this stuff up. What is it about being...

The overwhelming surge of illegal immigrants on the U.S.-Mexico border is drawing agents away from the northern border, where apprehensions are also increasing significantly. Sault Ste. Marie Border Patrol Agent in Charge Henry Laxdal told WJFW apprehensions in the Detroit sector increased 42 percent between 2017 and 2018, though the numbers pale in comparison to the southern border crisis.
