Joe Friday and Bill Gannon put some young "revolutionaries" in their place by eloquently explaining why socialism is such an abject failure.

I can't believe the ignorant statements and remarks I 've been reading from too-many women on Facebook. "I don't like his hair." "He's a chauvinist." "He makes ugly remarks about women." "He's had too many wives and I heard he was a cheater." Shame on all of you!!!! Its disgusting to hear such childish, small-minded and petty remarks from seemingly intelligent women! My gracious!!!!!!! No one is asking you to DATE TRUMP or suggesting you SLEEP WITH THE MAN!!! I know some of you. You've dated, slept with, married and divorced guys that looked a hell-of-a-lot less attractive than Trump....

It was revealed this week that suspected brain damage was a key factor in FBI Director James Comey's decision to recommend against indicting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her serial lawbreaking and security breaches regarding her emails. "In the interview with our agents the former Secretary came across as a person of seriously diminished mental capacity," FBI spokesman William Dodge explained. "She couldn't recall ever having been briefed on security matters—despite being shown her signature on a document affirming she had. She professed not to know that the letter 'C' on emails meant 'confidential. She couldn't remember who...

The extended drought in California has farmers looking for ways to use less water. Among them: growing feed indoors using hydroponics. The new diet is making some Central Valley sheep very happy. On Golden Valley Farm an hour north of Fresno, Mario Daccarett's employees milk 500 sheep every day, in rounds of 12. This creamy milk eventually is turned into cheese and sold at places like Whole Foods. "They tell me that our Golden Ewe cheese is the best for grilled cheese sandwich ever," Daccarett says. (I bought some and it was really tasty.) He says he gets about 800...

Hillary Clinton and the Democrats — and a considerable number of Republican summer soldiers who play “can you top this” with each other to see who can say the most hateful things about their party’s nominee — thought they had Donald Trump’s number. He was ignorant, a blustery racist, a blowhard bigot and maybe even guilty of mopery, a little bit crazy and unable to learn from his mistakes. He wouldn’t take the advice of anyone and he would be buried under a landslide for Hillary Clinton. No foreign leader would deign to talk to him, because he wouldn’t know...

Better education and loan forgiveness are key strategies to address disparities for Black communities and their next generations. This is the first in a series of conversations with contributors to the platform’s demands. The Movement for Black Lives kicked into high gear last month when more than 50 affiliated organizations released demands for social change. The demands include five reparations with a list of 40 possible ways to achieve them. These range from a guaranteed minimum livable income for all Black people to incorporating an examination of colonialism and slavery into school curricula. “The government, responsible corporations, and other institutions...

Another Hillary health alert. Surprised that I could not find this YouTube posted on FR already. The incident occurred on August 6th. Video is 2.5 minutes long. When she freezes, her medical agent and secret service people quickly surround her and the medical agent tells her, "Keep talking...keep taking". So this is another reason Hillary does not want to be seen in public and doesn't want to have Trump on the stage with her during the debates, I mean concurrent town halls.

Trump supporters aren’t brainwashed by the Republican’s candidates “illogical” lies — they're listening to a different conversation altogether. Much has been made of Donald Trump’s use of language in the 2016 presidential campaign. A recent FP piece even uses linguistic theory to explain his rise. But the authors incorrectly diagnose the complex language play through which Trump constructs his audiences and message. That leads them to echo a refrain of liberal political commentators — namely, that Trump’s supporters blindly adhere to illogical and false conclusions about the world. More measured linguistic analysis reveals that Trump supporters often explicitly reject the...

It’s been 272 days since Hillary Clinton’s last press conference. But Clinton’s lead press secretary, Brian Fallon, vows that if elected, “Hillary Clinton will hold press conferences.” “But the frequency of them is something that would just play out as time went on,” he added. On this week’s episode of the “Powerhouse Politics” podcast, Brian Fallon promised greater interaction between Clinton and the press on the campaign trail, and said that he expects the Democratic nominee to hold a press conference “soon.” “The amount of interaction can only go up," Fallon said, noting that the traveling press will soon be...

Some say that the casualty numbers are overhyped. Other say it is a serious problem. But at the Ivanpah Solar Plant in Nevada, birds are bursting into flames. The bizarre occurrences happen when the bird’s flight paths take them into the ultra-concentrated beams of sunlight produced by the panels at the plant. On spec, the plant seems like the very ideal of energy production for the future: three gleaming towers, forty stories in height capturing the energy from the sunlight reflected by five acres of massive mirrors. All told, the plant generates some 390 megawatts of power from its turbines....

We recently reported on an alliance between four companies that has 3D printed heart structures in a weightless environment. As the first installment of our regular new feature where we put one big question to one really smart person, we asked Euguene D. Boland, the chief scientist of Techshot — one of the companies involved in the research — what the single biggest impediment is to having lab-grown organs available right now. The single biggest impediment is one familiar to many other engineers in their disciplines as well, it's transport. In our case, we are not moving people or cars...

The conventional wisdom is that Pennsylvania is Trump's surest way to 270. Trump is trailing in the Pennsylvania RCP average by 7.3 points, so quite a few pundits are confidently writing Trump off as a sure loser. The problem with this confidence, however, is that Pennsylvania is not Trump's surest bet. In fact, the Midwest plus Florida and possibly New Hampshire, provides a clearer and currently quite realistic path to 269, the actual number that he needs. Trump is only trailing by an average of 2.5 points in these states, with the largest lead being four points, but the rest...

PJ's Power Brunch was inspired by the Power Lunch Power Break authored by Jake Novak of CNBC. The idea started off a a joke by Yours Truly on Twitter in reply to Jake but soon I got to thinking that perhaps there is a niche for precisely the type of blog I have in mind. While Novak's terrific Power Break focuses on the macro in terms of the economy, politics, and culture in general, my Power Brunch will be sort of a micro version of it...sprinkled with (hopefully) large doses of humor. So rather than, for example, looking at large...

When Trump was supposedly low in the polls, the establishment was laying low like their ill candidate, Hillary Clinton. Why upset the applecart? Trump has surged. Many of us believed it was much closer before than was being reported, but we also believe Trump has surged. Those who considered him leading would now see him beyond the margin of error out front. Is there proof of this beyond the demographically challenged polls? Yes! There is. The rope-a-dope strategy of the establishment has been set aside and they have renewed their attack with a vengeance. From every corner we're seeing again...

Secure the Border, Decimate the Heroin Trade, Tighten up Entry Visas, Local Law Enforcement, Curtail Cash Benefits for Illegal Aliens, Stop the Spread of Nuclear Weapons Trump delivered his much anticipated, 10-point immigration policy speech on the last day of August, a little more than nine weeks out from Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Given his triumphant and unexpected summit meeting, earlier the same day, with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, one would expect the content of Trump’s immigration speech to dominate the American news cycle for days to come. To an over-flowing, passionate crowd in Phoenix, including many who have...

Oops. Sorry! Back in August, the Daily Mail published an article about Melania Trump’s racy modeling days. In it, they basically claimed that she had once worked as an escort. While it’s true they didn’t explicitly state the allegations were fact, they rode a knife edge, repeating rumors and shoveling slimy innuendo in such a way that readers were left with the impression that such accusations were probably true. The story was picked up by a variety of outlets, but was immediately denied by the Trump camp. Within two days there were rumblings of a lawsuit and several websites, including...

Putting females into those positions may give some a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it's a recipe for mission failure and the needless deaths of good men and women. And that's far too high a price to pay to make anyone feel good The highly emotional debate over whether women should be allowed in combat positions in the U.S. military is back. The latest firefight was prompted when the only female officer enrolled in the Marine Corps’ Infantry Officer Course dropped out after failing to complete two conditioning hikes, according to Corps’ Training and Education Command. As a result, “There...

Hillary’s policy on children is tantamount to pre-planned child abuse. What organization or agency might she create if elected to office? Does America need an office of planned child molestation and abuse? National Review writer Jonah Goldberg asked the question in a piece written in February 2015 of what Hillary’s brand is, it has morphed so often that like the woman, cannot be amply traced without an expert in high speed atomic particle acceleration to interpret the results. Goldberg has to concede – “No doubt many voters – and pundits – will happily buy whatever they come up with for...

In a February 2010 speech, then-Gov. Jennifer Granholm described how Michigan was becoming a center for advanced battery production, which would diversify the state’s economy. Granholm characterized the state as “becoming a world capital for advanced batteries,” and boasted that the industry was “projected to create almost 62,000 new jobs" in the state. "We have a whole industry sprouting up all over the state with respect to the battery," Granholm said in 2010. As of 2015, Michigan had 918 battery manufacturing jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's even after billions of dollars granted to this industry...
