The Weighty Issue of Body Armor and Women in Combat
Canada Free Press ^ | 09/02/16 | Michael Fumento

Putting females into those positions may give some a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it's a recipe for mission failure and the needless deaths of good men and women. And that's far too high a price to pay to make anyone feel good

The highly emotional debate over whether women should be allowed in combat positions in the U.S. military is back. The latest firefight was prompted when the only female officer enrolled in the Marine Corps’ Infantry Officer Course dropped out after failing to complete two conditioning hikes, according to Corps’ Training and Education Command. As a result, “There are no female officers enrolled or slated to attend” the course.

Hillary Clinton, of course, supports it, because she’s a “huge supporter of women being able to break whatever glass ceilings are holding them back.” But so, alas, does Donald Trump.

I will say it once again: If you are unable to lift and carry a wounded 200 pound Marine or soldier in full battle rattle out of harms way if they are injured, you have NO BUSINESS BEING THERE!!!!!

Sorry, the number of people who can do that is vanishingly small.

Dragging them out is another point all together. With the newer LBE systems, you can get a good grip on them and drag them quite far.

In AFG one of our tasks was to do this training monthly. One fat contractor was impossible to move and I had to put my hands under his armpits, lean back lifting him a little and scramble backwards till we were out of the zone. Thought I was going to die.

As a young private years and years ago, just out of high school with a background in sports year round, I considered myself faster, stronger, with more endurance than your average bear.

The man-carry was no picnic. Ever. At any time under any condition.

I imagine Adrenalin would have helped, but I never had the combat opportunity to compare the two.

As a 30 year retires female officer, I maintain my position that women have NO place out there!!

WHen the hell did people forget that serving in the military is a PRIVILEGE and NOT a Right!?!! (end of rant)

What it is, you can grab her drag strap and easily remove her from harms way, but if the boot is on the other foot you’re left in the middle of the street.
Sorry sorry sorry. Army of One.

The highly emotional debate over whether women should be allowed in combat positions in the U.S. military is back.

Why this absurd question is even being debated is the real problem.

I think we should return to separate women’s corps - it’s time to reintroduce WACs.

So true. I think because they deliberately do not explain the differences between privileges and rights, and also needs and desires.

Plus they ignore their own hypocrisy. They know joining the military they give up certain constitutional rights, they are told that signing documents. But they think they have a right to serve in the capacity they want? Regardless of reality or what the military needs?

Well then how could women ever send men to their death and claim to be able to play with the big boys?

In other words, you had better have the upper body strength of Vasquez (at a minimum).
