“He Is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!” (Matthew 28:1-10)Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus...

As I sit here today pondering the coming Resurection Day, I thought of the love of God and how great His love must be to give His Son for His created beings with so many flaws. We know in the begining, He wanted to show us His feelings for us, so He gave us marriage because He thinks of us as His Bride. We couldn't know what God feels for us unless we could have the same feelings. Then he gave us our children. How could you possibly understand the sacrifice of God if we had no children to relate...

This redirects the attack on the Electoral College by avoiding the amendment process to the US Constitution. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is an agreement among U.S. states that would effectively end the electoral college system of presidential elections and replace it with a direct nationwide vote of the people. As of February 2008, this interstate compact has been joined by Maryland and New Jersey; their 25 electoral votes amount to 9.3% of the 270 needed for it to take effect. The compact is based on Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, which gives each state the...

Economics 101 For Obama & Hillary As we evaluate the proposals of the Presidential Candidates, one must remember that the Government PRODUCES nothing, EARNS nothing and HAS nothing that it doesn’t first APPROPRIATE from the producing public. Whatever it GIVES to someone, it must TAKE from someone – in THAT sense the government IS a Zero Sum Game!! The more the government gives to the dependent, the more they must take from the producers. If you’re a producer – watch your wallet. If you’re a dependent – GET A JOB! All the figures below come from directly from the Budget...

Moqtada al-Sadr — the lunatic Islamic fanatic that Newsweek called “The Most Dangerous Man in Iraq” in 2006 — has unilaterally extended the ceasefire he decreed for his Mahdi Army in the summer of 2007. “To be frank, we were getting our heads handed to us by the infidel occupiers,” Sadr lamented. “I see no alternative if we are to avoid being wiped out.” Sadr’s attempt to intimidate Iraqis into accepting his vision for an Islamic theocratic state under his leadership was not faring well. Even his fellow Shi’a Muslims rejected his message. When the U.S “surge” provided an alternate...

BEIJING (AFP) - China turned its back Saturday on appeals for dialogue with the Dalai Lama, vowing to smash anti-China forces in Tibet, where it said the death toll from recent unrest had risen to 19. A day after Beijing launched a manhunt for monks and others it blamed for violence in Tibet, an editorial in the People's Daily, mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist party, said opposition to Chinese rule in the Himalayan region must be wiped out.

For many of us, the memory of the student-led, pro-democracy Tiananmen Square protest of 1989 is still very fresh and vivid. It served as an indication that, no matter how tightly China tries to restrict the flow of information and ideas from outside their influence, they can’t control everything (keep in mind – 1989 happened before the internet revolution). It also served as a reminder that the Chinese communist regime was still as lethal and cold as ever. They are still the people who supported and fought with the Korean and Vietnamese communists against American forces.....

One of the most despicable of Rev. Wright's comments is his assertion that the 9/11 attacks were America's "chickens coming home to roost," delivered on the Sunday after they occurred. Wright says that we deserved it because we were involved in the Middle East and because we had engaged in terrorism when we nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This assessment of history reveals a couple of things about Wright. Let's take a look: 1. Like an all-white segregation-era jury, Wright doesn't need facts to deliver a verdict. For a rundown of some reasons you may not have heard that the bombings...

Beyond Politics: Black Liberation Theology, America and the Question of Race RFFM.org Commentary by Daniel T. Zanoza For a while, I had decided not to write anything on the Jeremiah Wright/Barack Obama controversy. After all, it's all been said, hasn't it? Every newspaper had the story on its front page and the commentary sections overflowed with all too wise speculation on the issue. Why would Barack Obama attend a church where such hate was fomented from the pulpit for 20 years? Did Obama allay concerns many had with him, after the junior senator from Illinois gave his speech on the...

The more I think about it, the more the following speculation makes sense: that Obama's spiritual advisor, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., is trying to sabotage Obama's campaign. Rev. Wright has multiple reasons to do it: 1. Spite: Obama dumped him at the last moment from his big spot on national TV giving the invocation at Obama's kickoff rally in Springfield last winter. 2. Glory: Wright craves attention the way Britney Spears does. 3. Ideology: Wright despises the idea that whites would give a black man like Obama an even break. As he told Obama when they first met...

When Sen. Obama’s preacher thundered about racism and injustice, Obama suffered smear-by-association. But when my late father - religious right leader Francis Schaeffer denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government, he was invited to lunch with presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush Sr. Every Sunday thousands of right-wing white preachers (following in my father’s footsteps) rail against America’s sins from tens of thousands of pulpits. They tell us that America is complicit in the “murder of the unborn,” has become “Sodom” by coddling gays, and that our public schools are sinful places full of evolutionists...

This guy seriously needs new handlers. All of this "new politics" is beginning to exhaust the public, and I suspect it is because its beginning to sound alot like the old politics. All of it culminating with race baiting and black resentment all crammed into one speech meant to, in the words of Charles Krauthammer, play to "intellectual flattery and white guilt". And as if throwing his own grandmother under the bus wasn't enough (she is still alive), today he called her "a typical white person". What?

(MEMRI) Following are excerpts from an interview with Sheik Ali Hatem Sleiman of the Al-Anbar Salvation Council in Iraq, which aired on Al-Arabiya TV on February 1, 2008. Interviewer: When will Diyala and Baghdad become as safe as Al-Anbar? Sheik Ali Hatem Sleiman: When we get wider authorities and a free hand to operate. Interviewer: How long do you think this will take? Sheik Ali Hatem Sleiman: Two months are all we need to eliminate [Al-Qaeda], Allah willing - but without "human rights." When Al-Qaeda kills twenty or thirty people, chops off their heads and throws them in the streets,...

The Albuquerque Journal ran a story the other day that won't help Bill Richardson's presidential aspirations any. The story gives what must be the fullest account on record of the New Mexico governor's proclivities for touching people in ways some might deem inappropriate. "He pokes me," Lt. Gov. Diane Denish told the paper. She was referring specifically to a public event at which Richardson reached his hand behind her chair and poked at the side of her leg repeatedly for a period of several minutes. "He pinches my neck," Denish said. "He touches my hip, my thigh, sort of the...

Common Single-Issue Issues Many of the issues that attract single-issue voters are the so-called “wedge” issues. These are usually the most controversial and divisive issues there are. These are the issues that are meant to either leverage or ignite a candidate’s base. These issues, such as gay marriage, flag burning, gun control, abortion, immigration, etc., are usually ones that a candidate has no ability, or is unwilling, to bring about any change in policy on. Gay marriage is a matter for state and local governments. While I may not personally like guns, gun ownership is a right guaranteed in the...
