<p>LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Bill Clinton, once famously described by author Toni Morrison as "our first black president," is being inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame as an honorary member.</p> <p>The former president will be the first non-black recognized in the hall's 10-year history. He is expected to attend the Saturday night event.</p>

Bubba has officially been 'claimed' as a black, by the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame. Charles King, the Executive Director of the group sponsoring the award - the Arkansas Regional Minority Supplier Development Council - told the New York Times, "Our board made a one-time exception" for the former President. Mr. King added, "African Americans in Arkansas feel that we're responsible for him being president. It was basically African Americans who came together and helped [Bill Clinton] win back the governorship after he lost it ... if that hadn't happened, he'd never have been president."
