<p>No one needs to be an economist to recognize the connection between job creation and taxes. Businesses stand a far better chance of thriving in environments with lower taxes.</p>
<p>Such reasoning underscores why candidates for governor and lieutenant governor ought to be talking about jobs and taxes in the same breath. And they should do so in one of a series of at least three debates around the state.</p>
