Joe hasn’t been seen in days. Not his signature on the resignation letter. Where is POTUS? Might he reappear and say he’s still in the race?

What a disgraceful end to a disgraceful presidency. Rather than exit this presidential race with dignity, rather than show long-suffering Americans the respect we deserve, President Joe Biden hastily declared he's out — on social media. Joe Biden's ghosted us!...Biden has humiliated himself, the nation, the Democratic elites, megadonors and liberal-media enablers who spent years covering for him. And he didn't even initially endorse his Vice President! Someone had to clean up Aisle 9 on X with a hasty follow-up Kamala endorsement tweet.... Why didn't Biden, like LBJ before him, announce his monumental decision to stand down during a primetime...

We should have known it would be Nancy. After the Democrats electoral surge in the 2018 midterms, her daughter was asked how Pelosi—the incoming House Speaker—would approach negotiations with then-President Trump. “She’ll cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding,” Alexandra Pelosi said. Over the last three weeks as Biden teetered, only to recover, and was beaten down, only to rally, it was Pelosi who kept coming back to the fight. As Politico reported, “Each time the Dump Biden movement seemed to stall, it was Pelosi who personally took pains to help revive it.” In a July...

oe Biden’s presidency is over. The old man can’t hack it, announcing earlier this afternoon that he’s exiting the race, endorsing Kamala Harris, his vice president, and finishing the rest of his term in isolation. But where is the president? A tweet of his ‘I quit’ letter was released, which did not sit well with many folks, and then nothing. We’re left to speculate what is going on with Joe Biden, and none of it is good. What the hell https://t.co/aOz5gaMyX0— umichvoter 🏳️🌈 (@umichvoter) July 21, 2024Frank Biden came forward to say that his brother’s health definitely played a role...

Vice President Harris is racing to lock down support for her White House bid, just hours after President Biden announced that he would no longer seek reelection. Harris on Sunday spoke with the chairs of three key coalitions on Capitol Hill: Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Rep. Nanette Barragán (D-Calif.) of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (D-N.H.) of the New Democrat Coalition. All three have backed Harris for the nomination. She also spoke with Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) — ”She is ready to win in Wisconsin!!!” he said on the social platform...

Hunter Biden released an emotional statement on Sunday following his father’s decision to withdraw from his campaign for reelection. The first son marveled at his father’s attributes and asked “all Americans” to “thank” President Joe Biden for his public service. “For my entire life, I’ve looked at my dad in awe. How could he suffer so much heartache and yet give so much of whatever remained of his heart to others?” Hunter wrote. “Over a life time I have witnessed him absorb the pain of countless everyday Americans who he’s given his personal phone number to, because he wanted them...

The question of whether Joe Biden could hold out against political pressure from the media, donors, Obama and influential figures across the party has been answered. He couldn’t. The donor coup succeeded. Democracy is dead, long live democracy. His campaign people had kept insisting that he was running until the last minute when his account tweeted a statement that he was abandoning his campaign. The whole seemed reminiscent of the palace coup against Japan’s Emperor Hirohito after the bomb dropped. Clearly there were multiple factions at work, but the power players, led by the party’s donors, won out and Biden,...

At 1:45 p.m. Sunday, President Joe Biden’s senior staff was notified that he was stepping away from the 2024 race. At 1:46 p.m., that message was made public. It was never Biden’s intention to leave the race: Up until he decided to step aside Sunday, he was all in. His campaign was planning fundraisers and events and setting up travel over the next few weeks. But even as Biden was publicly dug in and insisting he was staying in the race, he was quietly reflecting on the disaster of the past few weeks, on the past three years of his...

President Biden’s announcement that he was dropping out of the 2024 race stunned a number of White House staffers who believed he would stay the course. Many reportedly learned of the historic news from social media. “We’re all finding out by tweet,” one Democrat close to the matter told Politico. “None of us understand what’s happening.” Biden campaign workers in Delaware, where Biden has been holing up since Wednesday when he was diagnosed with COVID-19, were still operating business as usual right up until the announcement, placing calls to delegates ahead of the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

President Joe Biden has dropped out of this year's presidential election race, the White House said Sunday, and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to represent the Democratic party against Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. "It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President," Biden said in a message from his verified account on the X social media platform. "And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as...

For now, I’m taking at face value that Biden has withdrawn from the presidential campaign via a tweeted-out letter, with the promise of a live statement to follow. However, a surprising number of people believe that, considering how consequential Biden’s statement is, a tweeted-out letter suggests a coup rather than a voluntary resignation.

Candidates for President, and any other elected office, should have to face the same qualifications to be on the ballot. Party affiliation should have nothing to do with ballot access. Let me put it this way: Donald Trump, Robert Kennedy Jr., and a few other candidates have made it onto the ballots in their respective states. Harris has not done this for President. She should not be automatically considered for the post unless she has jumped through the same hoops as the other candidates have had to pass. If this means that the Democrats can't field a candidate this election,...

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware CNN — In the end, President Joe Biden exited the political stage in isolation. After weeks of fighting for his political life – insisting he wasn’t going anywhere following a disastrous debate performance – the president’s about-face did not come in an Oval Office address or a speech on the campaign trail. Instead, it came in letter posted to social media as he recovered from Covid-19 at his beach house in Delaware. It was a low-key way to reveal one of the most historic decisions in modern American politics, but time was not on Biden’s side to...

Full statement: The Justice Department issued the following statement from Attorney General Merrick B. Garland: “From the beginning of his tenure, President Biden has made clear in both word and deed that he stands for the rule of law and for the Justice Department’s critical mission to protect the safety and the civil rights of everyone in our country. I am grateful for his leadership and for the enormous respect he has shown for the 115,000 public servants of the Justice Department over the past three and a half years. As President Biden has noted, there is critical governing work...

During an interview with NewsNation on Sunday, Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA) stated that he thinks President Joe Biden decided to leave the 2024 race in part because he was concerned about his own health and Biden’s COVID diagnosis was “a wake-up call that there are other health issues that are ahead of him.” And that Biden decided that it’s best that he “use his energy, his experience, and knowledge” “to finish up the next six months of his presidency in a very strong way.”

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said on CNN’s coverage of President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race that with Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket, Democrats could win the House, Senate and White House. Swalwell said, “Today’s decision by Joe Biden to not seek reelection shows the difference between a selfless president and in Donald Trump a selfish person. And I’ve got a lot of gratitude toward the president for his entire career. He’s stepped up in oftentimes it was reluctantly when he could have devoted his priorities and other directions.”

…According to the Democratic National Committee rules, the party's delegates would still meet as scheduled for a virtual roll call to vote for who they think should be the nominee. What If Democrats Don't Choose Harris? Because Harris wouldn't just immediately become the nominee, there's a chance that another candidate is picked. The Democratic Party's delegates could choose another candidate that they see as giving the party a better chance against Trump in November. Other high-profile Democrats floated as possibly stronger alternatives to Harris include California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. But they have said that they...

WASHINTON, DC — President Biden finally admitted this afternoon that he is no longer mentally fit to be President, then assured the nation that he will continue being president. "I have to face reality. My mind isn't what it used to be," President Biden announced Sunday. "I forget things. Sometimes I don't know where I am. Yesterday I mistook a houseplant for Janet Yellen. It's something about her face. So, with a heavy heart, I am announcing that I am no longer fit to be President and will cease campaigning. Still, you can sleep easy knowing I will continue running...
