The internal tension in the Arab cities of Shechem (Nablus) and Jenin in Samaria has long been growing and threatening to boil over, as the Palestinian Authority's (PA) leading Fatah faction and its security apparatus clash. NABLUS, West Bank (AP) - Gunmen shot and killed a senior official from the mainstream Palestinian Fatah party Tuesday in the Balata refugee camp, party officials said. Nasser Badawi, 37, was walking at the entrance to the camp in Nablus when three gunmen in a taxi opened fire on him, killing him, the officials said. Badawi was one of the Fatah leaders in the camp. (IsraelNN.com) Israel Radio is reporting that the IDF a short time ago struck out at a terrorist target in a missile strike in Balata, in the Shechem district. A vehicle in the area was targeted and it appears three terrorists were eliminated in the surgical strike, including the area Fatah al-Aqsa commander. Sources within the PA confirm the report but at this time, there is no IDF confirmation of such an action.
