MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Warning the GOP's presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker suspended his 2016 campaign on Monday and called on some of his Republican rivals to do the same, citing an urgent need to "clear the field" to help defeat GOP front-runner Donald Trump. "Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately," Walker said in a Madison press conference.

A new book “Date-onomics: How Dating Became a Lopsided Numbers Game” by Jon Birger sets out to show that women aren’t doing anything wrong: There just aren’t enough Mr. Rights to go around. Birger explains...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis judge said the ex-wife of former state senator John Ford has an "attitude problem" and ordered her to spend the weekend in jail for violating her probation. Tamara Mitchell-Ford, 42, has a year left on a three-year probation she was sentenced to after a 2001 incident in which she rammed her Jaguar into the home of Connie Mathews, who has two children by John Ford. "She has an attitude problem and an anger problem," said Criminal Court Judge Arthur Bennett at a hearing Friday to determine whether Mitchell-Ford failed to report to her probation...

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- New Mexico placekicker Katie Hnida alleges she was a target of sexual harassment in 1999 when she was on the football team at Colorado. "I was treated much more like a piece of meat there," she said in a story in The Albuquerque Tribune on Friday. "Because I'm a pretty feminine gal, and they didn't respect that about me." Hnida on Friday declined to speak with The Associated Press about her time at Colorado and the allegations she raised. "I have nothing to say," Hnida, a senior at New Mexico, said after a practice session. Hnida told...
