NORWICH, Conn. (AP) -- A local man believes the first president to serve under the Articles of Confederation -- Samuel Huntington of Norwich -- was technically the nation's first president. Now, Bill Stanley is seeking $10 million to build a presidential library for Huntington here. Stanley, president of the Norwich Historical Society, asked the City Council on Monday night to donate $1 million from funds it expects to receive from the Mohegan American Indian Tribe, owners of Mohegan Sun casino. Stanley is also seeking funding from state and federal governments. "Facts are on our side. History is on our side,...

I need a geographically and politically diverse group to submit links to intelligent articles that authentically and clearly express a point of view on a topic in our national debate. If this interests you please visit my site: http://www.thepoliticalmind.com Please read this post in the spirit in which it is written. This is not a commercial enterprise. I'm trying to develop a diverse community of politically savvy people. This is a site for readers and thinkers not political attacks.

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!

New Conservative News Site Joins the WWW! GoodNewsAmerica.us is the latest conservative media entry circulating Breaking News from around the nation and the world. I’ve been quite impressed with the scope of the features. For anyone hard pressed for time it offers an extremely wide variety of information and links directly to the originating Media sites all on one site. The editor has done a tremendous job of setting up and maintaining this site. Its forum offers the ability to comment on these articles similar to Free Republic.com. I envision these sites working together synergistically. May I suggest that we...

Reporters Without Borders called today for the immediate release of Abbas Kakavand, who was imprisoned on 7 June for allegedly disseminating "false news" in articles he wrote for the website gooya.com since February after leaving the conservative newspaper Ressalat. His articles criticised corruption and the political payments received by many conservative leaders. The organisation described the jailing of Kakavand as "flagrant evidence of the systematic violation of press freedom in Iran," and pointed out that "it came just a few days before talks on human rights are scheduled to get under way between the Islamic Republic and the European Union"....

Condit Sues Over Chandra Levy Articles Saturday December 20, 2003 2:46 AM By JILL BARTON Associated Press Writer WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Former Rep. Gary Condit sued The National Enquirer and other tabloids for $209 million on Friday, alleging they falsely connected him with the 2001 murder of federal intern Chandra Levy.

I work in an by especially virulent anti Bush, anti US and anti capitalist environment. You guessed it: Academia! I need some up to date sources in support of GW Bush and his policies, pro capitalist pro US essays so that I can immediately post these in response to the Chomsky-type stuff I am exposed to and is disseminated. Besides National Review - anything else? I am especially in need of a short excellent piece in support of the 2000 Election of President Bush. The Left cannot leave this alone and this is the first blast out of their mouths...

Dear Friends: There is a great alternative to the leftist leaning S.F. Chronicle. This rag is so polluted, I won't even use it for my bird cage for fearing of endangering the health of my bird. However, there is a new site that critiques the Chronicle everyday, and they need writers, researchers, and editor to help them get the site running. Go check them out at www.chronwatch.com They should be a part of your daily routine. And if you're interested in helping please contact Tom at: TCSparkman@aol.com This is great opportunity for you budding writers, they need data entry people,...

By Thomas C Greene in Washington Posted: 07/18/2002 at 14:43 EST Internet spyware outfit Ranger Online has taken considerable heat for a little gimmick it's developed which, in the words of MSNBCi columnist Bob Sullivan, "cruises file-swapping networks like Gnutella to find copyrighted materials, hunts down the IP address of the poster, then discovers which Internet service provider is being used. Soon after, the MPAA sends its form letter to the ISP. Under the Digital Copyright Millennium Act, Internet providers are compelled to stop distribution of copyrighted materials when they are notified, so the ISP in turn forwards the note...

| Bernard Goldberg, for 28 years a persistently fair, probing reporter for CBS News in the tradition set there by Edward R. Murrow, has written a current best-selling book, ""Bias A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News," . His detailing of liberal bias in the media has been fiercely attacked by such mandarins of journalism as Tom Shales of the Washington Post, Michael Kinsley of Slate, and Tom Goldstein, dean of Columbia University's School of Journalism. One of Goldstein's former colleagues at CBS News, Eric Enberg, has charged that Goldberg has committed "an act of treason." In...
