This week Iran tested its first nuclear-capable, long-range missile and moved the hands of the Doomsday Clock a little closer to disaster.

One of the most important factors in risk assessment is the ability to judged the magnitude of a given threat. A group of scientists developed a Doomsday clock to measure the peril of nuclear war.
