It had to happen sooner or later. There, on the first Sunday of April 2003 in historic, downtown Amherst, forty activists gathered with signs, "No blood for oil" and "No more wars." Directly across the street, another forty activists took their places, signs saying, "Support Our Soldiers." Many local & seasonal patriots stood with us at 41 Bypass & East Venice Ave. yesterday! This was the largest turnout so far! At the peak time, we had between 7 & 10 Patriots on each corner! The car horns, cheers, thumbs up & smiles demonstrated just how happy the many passing motorists were to see us. We were visited by SNN 6 TV & a Sarasota Herald Tribune reporter. The Mineola Rally, sponsored by the Young Republicans of L.I. started at 2:00 pm. About 200 hundred people attended. I made my way through the crowd looking for signs with www.freerepublic.com on them, and I soon found one. Funny, how when you come across another FReeper you approach them as though they were long lost friends. And you are, in turn, greeted in the same fashion. Just arrived home from our third successful “Rally for America” in three weeks in the New Orleans area. A large crowd of patriots participated with us in a very rewarding, patriotic experience, which included prayers for our troops, flag-waving, and horn-honking of supporters, as they drove past our group.
