Barely two days after Democrat Andrew Gillum was leading in most polls for governor of Florida, a Strategic Research Associates poll conducted for Gray Television and released Wednesday showed Republican and former Rep. Ron DeSantis pulling into the lead, 48 to 45 percent. The margin of error was +/-3.46 percent. The poll is the first since the primaries last month to put the conservative DeSantis ahead of Bernie Sanders supporter Gillum. Virtually every expert who spoke to Newsmax agreed that Gillun was damaged by recent revelations Gillun had misstated that he reimbursed a lobbyist for a ticket to the Broadway...

Newsweek tried to tie a comment made by Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis to the pipe bomb sent to Hillary Clinton on Wednesday. DeSantis, who is running for governor in Florida, said in an email to supporters on Tuesday that a visit from Clinton could be the “kiss of death” for his opponent, Andrew Gillum, “I want to make sure that Andrew Gillum knows that inviting his failed presidential candidate is the WORST mistake of his campaign,” the DeSantis email said. “I want Hillary Clinton’s visit to be a kiss of death.” A Newsweek article linked that rhetoric to the...

Undercover FBI agents paid for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum's hotel room and his ticket to the Broadway musical Hamilton during a 2016 trip to New York City, according to a bombshell trove of records that raise new questions just two weeks before next month's election. The records include photos, a video and dozens of text messages between Gillum, former lobbyist Adam Corey and an undercover FBI agent, and they appear to refute what the mayor has said that trip and others. His campaign has maintained – and continued to maintain Tuesday – that Gillum believed the ticket came from his...

This one is from Survey USA, an online poll. It has Nelson up by 8% and Gillum up by 7%. However, look at the internal cross tabs - no Cubans in the sample and the population sampled rates Trump with a 44% approval rating/49% disapproval. Looks like a skewed sample to me.

If Democrats can keep you dependent upon government, they can keep their power. As demonstrated since “The War on Poverty” began, Democratic policies will never succeed because they’re not intended to. As long as Democrats can convince you that the American Dream is unobtainable without their help, the less likely you are to strive for it, and the more likely you are to blame others for your status in life and thereby vote for government largesse. Leftists understand what many voters have yet to figure out: if they can persuade you that the only thing that stands between you and...

Anyone watch the debate just now? That Gillum is one slimy dude. He didn't answer one direct question. I thought DeSantis did a good job. My prayer is this is the kickoff to massive advertising and a Trump blitz through our state. We CANNOT afford Gillum. He is dirty to the core.

Nearly 2.6 million Florida voters are receiving mail ballots for the November election It's still early, but there's no sign of a blue wave in the initial wave of mail ballot returns in Florida. Figures filed Wednesday with the state show that more Republicans than Democrats are returning their mail ballots, 20 days before Election Day. Nearly 2.6 million voters have been sent mail ballots — what used to be called absentee ballots — and 554,000 arrived through Tuesday. Republican mail ballot returns of 247,530 accounted for 45 percent of the total returns statewide, even though Republicans account for 35...

Mayor Bill de Blasio was in the battleground state of Florida this past weekend campaigning for the Bernie Sanders-backed Democratic nominee for governor, Andrew Gillum, but it is most likely the Republican ticket of Ron DeSantis and Janette Nunez that he helped by being there. Here in New York City, we’re facing record high homelessness, deplorable conditions in city public housing, and a crumbling transit system. Homeowners have also seen a 44% increase in the property taxes since de Blasio took office and now a push to open more homeless shelters, jails and even heroin injection centers in their neighborhoods....

A staffer working on Florida gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum's (D) campaign was dismissed after a series of offensive social media posts surfaced over the weekend. Screenshots of since-deleted tweets from Manny Orozco-Ballestas, a youth director for the campaign, were published by conservative blogger Jacob Engels. The tweets, which date as far back as 2012, included several in which Orozco-Ballestas degraded women and one in which he responded to a tweet from President Trump by saying "you need to be executed." The Tampa Bay Times reported on Sunday that Orozco-Ballestas was fired because of the language used in his social media...

A youth outreach staffer for Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has been terminated after calling for President Trump's death on Twitter, and wearing a shirt calling pro-Trump states "Dumbf--kistan." The staffer, 24-year-old Manny Orozco-Ballestas, made a series of sexually graphic and politically charged comments on social media in 2012 and 2013, according to fringe blogger Jacob Engels, who flagged the posts. In one 2013 post, Orozco-Ballestas wrote to Trump: "you need to be executed." In another, he reportedly wrote, "If you're weighing 300 pounds+ maybe it's a good idea you stop posting all that fattening food pics on [Instagram]!"

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) this week called on Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum to fire a staffer who wore a shirt with an insult directed at Americans who voted for President Trump in the 2016 election. Manny Orozco-Ballestas, the campaign's director of youth outreach, posted a photo to his Instagram last summer, showing him wearing a shirt depicting the 2016 electoral map, the Tampa Bay Times reported. The paper published the photo, which says in writing that the blue states form “The United States of America,” while the red states are labeled “Dumbf---istan.” "It is unbelievable to me...

Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum graduated from an Oakland, California-based training school for progressive revolutionaries that has spawned a list of activists who have gone on to become the who’s who of the far-left leadership world, with many taking senior positions at organizations financed by billionaire George Soros. In scores of cases, graduates of the Rockwood Leadership Institute founded or directed notorious Soros-financed activist groups, such as Black Lives Matter, Media Matters for America, MoveOn.org and the Tides Foundation, one of the nation’s largest funders of progressive groups. Soros’s own Open Society Foundations sent top staff to Rockwood for training....

In the first poll since Hurricane Michael devastated the Panhandle — and changed the course of state politics — the race for Florida Governor is virtually tied. Twenty days before Election Day, Democrat Andrew Gillum is at 47 percent, while Republican Ron DeSantis is at 46. However, among those who say they have already voted, DeSantis is at 49 percent, while Gillum is at 45 percent. A similar scenario is set up for Florida’s U.S. Senate race — heading into the stretch in dead-heat fashion, according to the new survey by St. Pete Polls. Republican Gov. Rick Scott has a...
